I have just read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The authors love of Italy and Tuscany in particular shine through every page and she has written with insight, humour and sensitivity. Catherine Carabine is a writer with talent and I look forward to her next offering with eager anticipation.

This review is from: Spice Boy Ivory (Kitchen & Home)
Had seen the spice boy owned by friends and was impressed so got one myself. It is great, works a treat, grinds anything I have put in really well. The only downside is, as you can no longer obtain them in wood, I had to buy the acrylic version, which looks great, but someone has obviously dropped mine and it has got a crack down the side from top to about halfway down, which is gradually getting bigger. But on balance I would buy another, would like to own a row of them in various colours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Polpo, Best Italian cookbook yet!, 12 Oct 2012

Heard this book being reviewed on Womens Hour a few months ago, was intrigued and had a look online. couldn't resist it as it is about the little bars/restaurants which we like to frequent in Italy. Have been so pleased with it, used it more than any other Italian cookbook I own and every recipe has been a success. Just laying up litres of the tomato sauce which is fab, to eat with the Polpette (meatballs) again fab, as is everything else I have tried.
