5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album, deserves more publicity, 19 July 2005
This review is from: Elevator (Audio CD)
This is a really great pop/rock/indie record. When everyone asks what the last album i bought was i say Hot Hot Heat, and they all say 'who?'. This band and this album deserve so much more recogniton in the wider circles of music.
So to the album - every track is a winner, the standouts, although all are good, would have to be Jingle Jangle with its infectious chorus, Island of the Honest Man, with it's infectious chorus and verses, Ladies and Gentlemen and Middle of Nowhere - both with more infectious lyrics and music; it's a great singalong album. Oh and Pickin' It Up just makes you want to move, so too Owe Me An IOU and ... well i could go on.
Buy this album if you want, well a great album. It even has a good final track - a bane of many records - Quality Product.

4.0 out of 5 stars ah the good old days, 27 Sep 2004
i've had this camera for ages. it's out of date now i don't doubt, and i'm getting a digital camera soon, but this still serves its purpose. If u just want a little camera that uses APS then this is great. The picture size modifier has been great - i've taken many an impressive panoramics, namely of vistas in the south of france and infaltable dolphins called frank. I p[robably wouldnt recomend this camera anymore beacuse u can get such bettr spec these days, but hey it's cheap and effective. I'm gonna miss the ol' thing, although i'll probably keep it anyway - u never can have enough panoramics.

5.0 out of 5 stars A style all of his own, 20 Sep 2004
This review is from: Tigana (Paperback)
This is the second book of Kay's that i read after reading the Fionavar Tapestry. The latter was a well written and involving trilogy, but it was more than a little derivitive of Tolkien. Tigana, however is a very original stunningly written story. Kay has a very distinctive style, often playing with chronology and breaking up storylines with others to create an interwoven plot that keeps you interested. His characters are always involving, even if his leads tend to always be strong, clever, handsome men, and he does have a tendency to introduce inconsequential characters that seem to have little relevance. However that is all part of his storytelling style. The story multi-faceted and endlessely inventive, clever and enthralling.
I recomend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy or just a good read. Kay is a master of what he does, even if he gets a little pretentious some times. Just another great fantasy writer.
