3.0 out of 5 stars good design, 22 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
this is a good preventative measure for sufferers of RSI etc. the position is comfortable and the buttons have a lighter touch than my old mouse. one complaint- the scroll wheel is less sensitive, one roll of the wheel from front to back is about 4 increments, on my old mouse (4.50 from asda) there are 7 increments. this lets down an otherwise superb product.

1.0 out of 5 stars insubstantial, 11 Feb 2011

Awful. unstable, insufficient resistance, I could vigorously use this for an hour and not get a workout. 20 mins rowing should make you ache. I can only imagine that the positive reviewers have never had the use of a proper rowing machine like a concept 2. It wobbles, it jumps along the floor as you shift your weight (I am well within the claimed weight range). One very annoying aspect of the design is that the footplates are not fixed in place but attached loosely to a long bolt that goes through the frame so that they pivot around their centre. On its way back to Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars long cad sessions, 20 April 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a good product, well made, nice idea. I use it home and work, it's more convenient than an ergonomic mousemat in some respects, and less so in others. If you keep having to switch from mouse to typing or working on paper it is not as useful as the gel padded mouse mats.

5.0 out of 5 stars ideal for non graphic designers, 31 July 2009
Explains grid layouts comprehensively, giving full reasons. Much better than the all-too-common graphics recipe books. Perfect grounding in use of text, typographic choices etc. The best.

Grand Bleu: Hotel du Departement des Bouches-du-Rhone, Marseilles, Alsop and Stormer Architects

5.0 out of 5 stars nice if you can get it, 22 Jun 2009

this is a lovely little book if you can find a copy. It is brief but enough to add more detail than one commonly gets about a single building in the architectural press. Many simple line drawings as well as some photos of models, finished building and construction process document the project, including its development from competition stage to final design.

4.0 out of 5 stars works for me., 29 Aug 2008

The keyboard is thinner than I expected, rolls into approx 7cm diameter without stressing the rubber. The space key is divided into two to prevent unresponsive button pushing. Lies flat on the desk. I am using this for shortcut keys in programs like blender, also typing this review with it. Not suitable for typing long documents but ideal for my needs, supplementing a laptop keyboard on the move with a full keyboard. Haven't remapped the keys yet but come on its these two @" and thats about it. If you get a white one you can redraw the symbols.

5.0 out of 5 stars exemplary, 13 Jan 2007

Probably the best voulme of the series even though half of it is about Kansai. The complete works are a brilliant series and I have all 4 but vol. 3 seems particularly good in the images of detail both drawn and photographed, the commentary is less descriptive and more discursive, more interesting than the other volumes.

5.0 out of 5 stars making space for theatre, 23 Jun 2006
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The real strength of this book is that most of the contributors are not architects or critics but theatre directors, actors, producers etc so the very pithy summaries of significant british theatre buildings including 1:500 plans of each, are set in context by those who use them. In my opinion this is an approach that architects would welcome and benefit from if it were done a lot more. As well as cataloguing theatres in summary, the book also contains essays that are thoroughly focused upon the title 'making space for theatre'.

4.0 out of 5 stars a good introduction, 20 Sep 2005
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Inside Microstation (Paperback)
Conforti explains the basic tools of Microstation with perfect clarity-to a beginner as I was I could't recommend this book more highly. I am an architecture student and many people on my course use this book. If you want information about surface or rendering tools at the same standard then look elsewhere. Some discussion of printing, particularly to scale, would also be something to seek from other sources even if you buy this book.
