This review is from: The Paleo Solution (Hardcover)
Good - it's paleo ,it freakin Robb Wolf!!!
The bad - it just isn't as detailed as I had hoped, it is funny but no where near as funny as his podcast - unfortunately - I really wanted to love this book - but it just isn't as good as I had hoped for

3.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff - bad stuff, 3 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
There are a lot of good recipes in here, and following the diet/diets will probably lead to improved health for many people - so far so good.
I wanted to say this in a nice way, but ... - it is almost like the author just made up some of the reasoning behind the recomendations - it is far from evidence based - that being said her recommendations are not that bad, just her reasoning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brings new (and old) stuff to the debate, 3 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I personally think they go a little lightly over things like grains and legumes, with regards to both toxins/irritants and (lack of) nutrient density - but on the other hand they bring some very interesting observations/hypothesis' to the the table - which I haven't seen mentioned before - it wouldn't necessarily be my first choice for a book on nutrition - but it is a hell of a good second choice - as there things in here you won't easily find other places

Very well written and interesting book - a cookbook that is funny, and provides interesting background information on recipes - which are great!

City of Dragons: The Rain Wild Chronicles Book Three: 3
City of Dragons: The Rain Wild Chronicles Book Three: 3
by Robin Hobb
Edition: Hardcover

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it :), 3 Feb 2013

The world and characters Robin Hobb has created are still interesting - but the series (this book included) never reaches the emotional or dramatic heights of the Fitz books

The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor (Walking Dead 1)
The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor (Walking Dead 1)
by Jay Bonansinga
Edition: Paperback
Price: 5.59

4.0 out of 5 stars A well written drama, 3 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A well written fleshing out of the governors back ground, with some interesting twists along the way. Not as good as the comic, show or Telltale's game - but definitely worth a buy and a read

10,000 Year Explosion: How Civilization Accelerated Human Evolution

4.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting topic - well treated, 3 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A very interesting topic, and a well written book. The authors do however, in my view, have a slight tendency to overstate the significance of some of the studies/results/hypothesis/theories they bring forth - this seems especially clear to me when they mention diet and nutrition (my area of profession).
Definitely worth a read (and buy) - just be a little critical

The Walking Dead Compendium Volume 1
The Walking Dead Compendium Volume 1
by Robert Kirkman
Edition: Paperback
Price: 31.50

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome, 3 Feb 2013

I had seen the first two seasons of the show, and played the first season of Telltale's game - both of which I loved - I found this a really good read - and it is kinda fun to see how many things small (and bigger) things they have changed in the show - they are like parallel universes - If you like drama, comics, and/or zombies - buy it!
