After owning Omaha Indian Music - Traditional dance songs Vol I, I knew i had to get Vol. II. It is amazing that such ethnic music is actually available. I think we are missing out on a lot by allowing this history to be swept under the carpet by modernization. I was deeply moved by the music on Omaha Indians Music - Traditional Dance Songs 2-CD Set Vol-II and feel richer and more aware for owning it."

Most musical CDs come from a culture you already know and are not really learning experiences. Not so with this CD, which is aparently real folk songs performed by Omaha Indians. The music is beautiful but what is more important is thinking about the culture that created the songs and how it has been made to disappear over the years. It helped me think a bit more about this culture than I normally would have. I liked it.

Historical Speeches of Famous American Leaders - Rebuilding America (1913-1939) CD

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality, 29 Sept. 2008
As you watch the current United Nations trying to help out people all over the world, I wonder how many of today's younger people remember the original League of Nations? It was built after World War I in order to keep world wars from happening again. Obviously it didn't work out as well as planned, but it was a good start to living in peace. I remember being a small child and hearing about the League of Nations, so I was interested in listening to this CD and hearing the orignal speaches and such that went into trying to build a lasting peace. I am surprised at how good the sound quality is here given the age of the recordings.

A2ZCDs did a great job in preserving these speeches. I would recommend them to any college student who is doing a project on this topic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steve Reeves was a good pick for the role, 29 Sept. 2008
This review is from: Hercules [DVD] [NTSC] (DVD)
Out of all of the so-called "Sword and Sandal" genre of films, Hercules is the best in almost every aspect. First of all, the actors are perfect for the film, in my opinion. Steve Reeves, who was named Mr. Universe right before filming Hercules, really is the perfect Hercules figure and the casting director for the film deserves a lot of credit. The fact that Steve performed his own stunts while riding a horse helps to expand the "cult" of Reeves fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD, 19 Sept. 2008
Did you know that back in the 1950s you could be sentenced to life in prison for bigamy? I didn't either. I mean, I'm not saying that you should be married to two women at once, but life in prison seems like a fairly harsh penalty. Anyway, that's all beside the point. What this film is about is a bigamist who gets the chance to explain to a judge exactly why he needed to be maried to two women. It's very much a product of his time and he's able to show that it is actually his first wife's fault that's he's married twice. Yet, the ending is very, very romantic and I liked it.

One of the first "novelty films" every made, The President's Mysterty stands the test of time even without the publicity it recieved when it first came out. This is like the Survivor of its time. The name comes from the fact that FDR spectulated about the plot points and then a magazine editor got someone to make the mystery move that the president had suggested. The plot is simple - a guy wants to disappear but also take his money with him. How he does it and how he gets caught is the basic plot.

As a collector of classic musicals this was a "must have" DVD for me. Filmed just after the start of the second world war, the filme is part propoganda, part musical and all fun. The Andrew's Sisters are as cute and charming as ever and they make you want to sing along. I was impressed by the quality of the film - the sound was a lot clearer than that of other DVDs I've ordered from this era. Of all the Andrew Sisters films I like this one the best.
