Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your life with Patrick. In contrast with other readers, I have had to put the book down occasionally, simply to give myself time to digest the passion and emotion. I am glad that you did complete the book and your story with Buddy. Marriage is a life time of effort and sometimes one is rewarded with a special love. It is clear that Buddy and you shared that special place on this Earth. Take heart that your Buddy has taken that love with him to his ranch in the sky. For you readers, if you loved Patrick Swayze before, you will adore the personality behind the actor. Read for yourself the romance which spans four decades, and the optimistic reality in which Lisa deals with the tragic news of his condition. I describe it as a condition because this couple didn't treat it as an illness. An inspiring real life love story written by a true guardian angel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sentimental Chik Read, 27 Oct. 2013
This review is from: The Darling Girls (Kindle Edition)
The three main characters show strength and conviction. They end up supporting each other and picking their way through the minefield that is bereavement. It demonstrates how people cope with loss. I felt that these three women dug deep into their humanity to create a new way of living fostering their children's well being. Narcissists create a wake of emotional destruction and this story's conclusion showcases compassion at it's very best. Thank you for a creative interlude from reality, Emma. Keep it up.

I've discovered my new Rosamunde Pilcher. This book has had me guessing all the way. I felt that perhaps the main character, Olivia, selfish and self indulging. However, without giving much away, the book flirts between the past and present and it is plainly obvious that the two will collide unequivocally. It is about soul Marta. Movingly sad. Thank you Louise for a brilliantly thought out story. Big comfy chair, hot chocolate and cosy fireside read. Can't wait to start my next Louise Douglas. X

The author seems to have been influenced by the Sci-fi Highlander series of the eighties/early nineties. It matches the Celtic Welsh backdrop. It's not been a 'can't put you down' sort of book but it's simple plot has been an easy pick up. It's cosy and describes the ever changing landscape of family loyalty impeccably. The author surely feels loved and secure in her own world. Mills and Boon eat your heart out.

This is a warts and all account of Karen"s short and limited life. It is profoundly sad that she never recognised her own talents and gifts. Her closest friends provide the backbone which the author covers truthfully. This is the story of pushy mother with favoured first born child (Richard). It is written in a hauntingly realistic manner which the reader can relate to real life scenarios. My one wish is that KC has found peace and love in heaven. Her soul deserves to be at ease. Thanks to Randy Schmidt for taking the time to write this journal. It serves to remind us all of how powerfully influential a parent's love and attention (or lack thereof) is and how we should strive to provide opportunity to allow our children to develop their true potential in a truly supportive environment.

JK Rowling has manoeuvred her way into adult literary in her own inimitable style. This book is a gritty, sometimes uncomfortable but compelling read. A rollercoaster of emotions and unusual ending. Don`t expect Disney but expect to marvel at the author's exquisite take on human nature.

Thought provoking in description of character very philosophically I am left with the notion that if all men were more like hobbits our planet would be a far more pleasant place to be. A great read. With much action packed adventure.
