Angry Bird Black 8 Inch Plush Soft Toy
Angry Bird Black 8 Inch Plush Soft Toy
Offered by Yourshop2010
Price: £9.96

1.0 out of 5 stars Wrong toy sent - would suit fairground, 13 Sep 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We were sent a small black Pokemon with red eyes seemingly direct from the factory in China (Chinese postmark and customs label) and was of fairground stall quality.

To be fair, we did get full 'no quibble' refund after contacting the seller about their mistake (sending them a photo the offending item still in its wrapper) but got the impression this was not worth re-ordering as it looked unlikely to be a source of official AB merchandise.

Pokemon went to charity shop.

1.0 out of 5 stars More Expensive than Waitrose (Sept 14), 3 Sep 2014

It is better than many instant coffees - but not at this price.

Coffee is four stars, but price drags it down to one.

Bought this on-line back in December 2013 priced at £15 for 6 100g tins with free p&p - good value and happy enough with it for my coffee fix (although the batch seemed bitter compared to the same tin from the supermarket)

As at 5th September 2014 stated Amazon price was £39, equating to £6.50 per tin. Co-op price currently £5.49, Waitrose £4.99. Supermarket offers can occasionally bring it down to £3 per tin.

As at 7th September 2014, Amazon price seemingly down to £29 with further discount to £26 but then adding a further £13 on top again for p&p.

Asda currently £5 buy one get one free, so have restocked at 6 tins for £15 again from local supermarket with no P&P.

A bit pedantic I know, but hey - I don't want anyone to get ripped off.

4.0 out of 5 stars This may not be a vintage year - yet, 19 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Based on an initial impression after the first few plays, this seems to be a ballad heavy year with less variety than usual and not many stand-outs.

The live shows introduce the visual gimmicks that make the performances more memorable of course, but based on this soundtrack alone, the final scores look likely to be determined by the bloc vote again rather than by a runaway winner.

The Netherlands and Malta prompted a second listen, but they rarely have enough support to get beyond the semi-finals. As for the UK entry, we have heard similar before, but maybe it could fare better in this year's lacklustre company.

Overall, unless it proves to be a ` grower', this year may disappoint...

**Update**

Further star added as it seems a grower after all - and the kids love it (fills a gap where TOTP used to be)As in previous years, we will take this in the car for our summer holiday soundtrack.
Lets see how current Eastern European tensions will affect the bloc vote this year... love, peace - and music!

**Final post-match analysis**
It grew a beard! - Conchita not necessarily the best song on the album, but certainly a well deserved winner on the night with a convincing live performance (if imitation is the finest form of flattery, even Israel, the home of Dana International, gave Austria douze points - Eastern bloc take note, vote for the song / performance, not the country!)
Special mention to Molly for being the first UK entry for years to absolutely nail the live vocals with a great performance that exceeded the album track and closed the show perfectly - well done - we are all Children of the Universe!

3.0 out of 5 stars Arrived split, 25 Jan 2014
Cups are fine and exactly what we wanted but rendered useless by the poor packaging /postal handling as they all arrived with the same split down half of one side...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great puppies but not the dough!, 4 Jan 2014
Kids given this as a present. Moulds are fun and shapes are well defined when compacted by an older child, but the moon sand dough is far too crumbly and messy for the under fives it is presumably aimed at. Keep the moulds but ditch the moon dough.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh Crumbs! Bit of a problem, 3 Jan 2014
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Moon Dough Diner Playset (Toy)
Kids were given this and a similar set as a present.

I thought the name change might be an improvement over 'moon sand' but moon dough is exactly the same stuff - friable with small bits falling off at every moment ending in a fundamentally useless crumbly colour mixed mess for anyone with the patience to tidy up afterwards. We hoovered up a quarter of the dough volume off the table after the first use - bits of the stuff fell off socks and clothes leaving yellow and pink patches in the carpets elsewhere in the house that won't vacuum out...

Solution - keep the fun plastic moulds but bin the moon dough straightaway and use regular play dough instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Significant Hidden import duty and postal charges, 4 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a review of the ordering process and hidden charges, not the content.

I'm sure the show will be five stars and worth the wait, but we do expect to pay the advertised price and have the total price, including import duty and postage, clearly marked at the checkout.

We certainly don't expect to pick up the tab for handling international postage upon collection at the depot (the Royal Mail refused to deliver it to the door due to outstanding charges).

There was no indication of the extra £4 import duty PLUS an £8 Royal Mail handling charge, apparently due to under payment of the postage to the UK.

Following the initial purchase price of £20.99 at the time of the order, this hidden charge added a further £12, bring the overall price to £32.99.

Not impressed and would at least expect a refund of the avoidable £8.

AZATOM® iFlute Pink Portable Docking Station - Remote Control - Unique Design - Quality Sound
AZATOM® iFlute Pink Portable Docking Station - Remote Control - Unique Design - Quality Sound
Offered by 4 COOL TECHNOLOGY
Price: £29.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for daughter's bedroom or travel, 26 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very compact size, very good clear treble sound -unsurprisingly no oomph in the bass section (think Katy Perry, not Motorhead)

Main advantage over rivals is the remote control -it has a short range but fine for a bedroom.

Docking can be a fiddly and unstable process for little thumbs, but that is true of many more expensive docks.

Remote battery arrived flat - be prepared to buy a new one just in case.

Overall, excellent value and does what it promised.

Sparkly Princess Wand - Silver & Pink Colours - Girls Party Loot Bag Fillers Gift
Sparkly Princess Wand - Silver & Pink Colours - Girls Party Loot Bag Fillers Gift

1.0 out of 5 stars Not magic, 1 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Wanted these for kiddie party bags and in haste had assumed from the image this was a multi-pack. Wrong.

One pathetic small stubby wand arrived for £1.75.

To be fair in hindsight, the description clearly stated only one item was included, but surely 49p would be a more realistic price for such tiny bits of tatty plastic without any sense of fairy magic and sadly now destined for a post party landfill site.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for movie buffs and solid souvenir of a memorable exhibition, 18 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Hollywood Costume (Hardcover)
Really enjoyed the V&A visit and this is a high quality companion book that stands on its own two feet for any movie buff's bookshelf. The forward explains that the heart of the exhibition originally formed part of Debbie Reynolds MGM collection that she had to sell in 2011.There are some minor quibbles -even more/ larger pictures would have been great and it is a little repetitive in places (we certainly know that many actors find it easier to get into character once they don the carefully crafted outfit...) . The text explores the unquestionable art of the costumes, but there seemed scope for some more research and movie trivia. For example, there are some stills from Cameron's 1997 'Titanic', and reference to many silent era films being costumed by 'Lucile' of New York, but I suspect that the two are linked to Lady Cosmo Duff Gordon, a survivor whose lingerie company presumably went on to supply the costumes for the emerging Hollywood industry.
A great book to look at, if weighty to hold. I only docked half a star because I wanted even more out of it.
