For a while, I thought that Modern Warfare & Modern Warfare 2 was the dogs nuts... But on trying Bad Company and Bad Company 2 I have to admit I was wrong in my assumption!

The single player campaign is very immersive with a belter of a storyline.

The online Multiplayer is far far better than either Modern Warfare or Modern Warfare 2 has to offer at this time.

I'm not going to fart about writing a long waffling review, I'll just say go and get Bad Company 2 and try it for yourself, its a bloody good game and well worth the money!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Tidy Piece Of Kit, 17 Sept. 2010
When I first saw this phone, it looked as if it was a cloned E72...

How wrong was I?...

Right from when I purchased this phone I have been impressed, It is in fact better than the E72, it is a shade larger but, slightly lighter. The keys have a nice rubber feel to them and are easy to use, the space bar is larger than previous similar phones from Nokia. It has a nice sturdy contruction which belies its shape and overall thickness. The battery cover is of a stainless steel construction and is opened by pressing a small button on either side of the phone. The screen is a nice size and the clarity is very good, as far as one can tell it is very user friendly, so much so that my Wife is now considering one of these as her next phone!

The sound quality is also very good and nice and clear. As for the built in Sat-Nav I have not yet used it, so therefore will not comment about it, but from what I have heard from other users, that too seems to be of good quality.

Towards the top section of the handset there is a good size TFT colour screen & at the lower section of the casing is a classic style QWERTY keyboard. There is a centrally positioned five way navigation key complete with call & end keys, which is neatly positioned between the screen & the keyboard. Either side of the navigation key the you will find a messaging key & a home key, which are also well positioned for ease of use & providing a shortcut option to these features.

The screen itself measures 2.4 inches & has a screen resolution of 320 pixels by 240 pixels, displaying up to 256,000 colours on a brightly lit screen. The E5 has volume controls which are located on the edge of the casing allowing the user to adjust the volume quickly & easily. the casing comes complete with subtle chrome effect accents which highlight the navigation key on the front of the handset & the camera lens on the back of the casing. The casing has slightly curved edges which softens the overall appearance of this powerful Smartphone. It measures 11.5cm by 5.89cm by 1.28cm which will fit is most pockets when not in use. The E5 weighs a total of 126 grams including its fitted rechargeable battery which feels good to hold in the hand.

All in all, a nice new addition to the smartphone set and one which I am very content to have.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh Dear!, 26 Oct. 2008
After the totally abysmal Starship Troopers 2, when I saw the adverts for this, the third in the Starship movies, I honestly thought that it was a return to form, a worthy follow up to the first utterly brilliant movie...

Then I watched the DVD - And my God I wish I hadn't... I stuck with it and watched the whole damn thing with mounting disappointment, both Casper van Dien and Jolene Blalock looked as if they wished they were somewhere else... The acting was wooden, the script cheesy and cringeworthy and the special effects looked as if they just hadn't bothered!

Please, take a tip... Don't buy this DVD, you are better off waiting for it to come on Sky Movies, believe me, you'll be grateful you saved your money and waited.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Classic War Movie, 24 Nov. 2007
This is one of those films that you either love, or hate!

For my part, I love this movie, always have - But now the director has restored about 15 minutes of the movie which was previously removed - This film is now excellent!

Sir Michael Caine plays the part of Oberst (Colonel) Kurt Steiner very well, and Donald Sutherland plays the part of Liam Devlin amazingly accurate to the book!

The basis of the story is that a German Colonel (Robert Duvall) in the Abwehr (German Intelligence Corps) has come into some info that Sir Winston Churchill is to be staying very close to a reasonably isolated Norfolk beach, and thus comes up with the idea of kidnapping him, with the hope of forcing the allies into a negotiated peace, thus ending the second world war!

Enter the recently court-martialled Colonel Steiner (Caine) and his detachment of battle hardened Fallschirmjeager (Paratroopers) who are given the job of parachuting into Norfolk to capture Churchill.

Through no fault of their own, the plans goes south, and they end up having to improvise....

I'm saying no more as it would ruin the film. There are some big names in this movie, Sir Michael Caine, Donald Sutherland, Robert Duvall - Larry Hagman plays the part of a priviledged yet somewhat useless army colonel, and the excellent, yet under-rated Treat Williams plays the part of an army ranger captain very well.

Anthony Quayle plays his part of Admiral Canaris (head of the Abwehr) excellently, but the best acting must surely go to the late Donald Pleasance for his chillingly accurate portrayal of Himmler.

Some other stars of the late 70's are in this movie too... Jean Marsh - of Upstairs Downstairs fame - along with Judy Geeson, Jenny Agutter and Maurice Roeves.

All in all, a belter of a film!

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!, 22 Nov. 2007
To echo what a lot of reviewers have already stated, this film is a bloody brilliant end to three superb movies!

Matt Damon has been absolutely mustard as Jason Bourne!

In this final movie of the trilogy, we are taken back to how Jason Bourne became an assassin - and he finally gets to find out his true identity, therefore finally getting some answers to all the questions that he has been asking during his quest.

10 out of 10!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad!, 8 Nov. 2007
This review is from: Reign Of Fire [DVD] [2002] (DVD)
Whilst I tend to disagree with a lot of people who, like myself, review films here on Amazon - I have to agree with the majority negative vote on this film....

It promised to be so much, and yet delivered so little - Albeit the special effects are bloody brilliant, and the Dragons are real bad-asses with serious attitude problems, the rest of the film is a let down!

I felt that two powerful actors such as Christian Bale & Matthew McGonahey - I think thats how its spelt! - Were both let down by a relatively poor script!

5.0 out of 5 stars FUNNY & GENTLE, 6 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Saving Grace [2000] [DVD] (DVD)
The story centers around a recently widowed lady called Grace - Brenda Blethyn - Who finds out that her stately home was mortgaged to the hilt by her late husband! Unfortunately when the will is read, it works out that her husband was actually in considerable debt, and as a result she stands to lose her beloved home!

Cue a very funny film, and the hilarious scheme which Grace becomes involved to raise money to pay off her late husbands debts, and save her home. Kudos to Craig Ferguson - who plays Grace's pot-smoking gardener - and also to Tcheky Karyo who plays a drug baron. Bill Bailey has a small part too, as a small time dealer along with Jamie Foreman who plays Karyo's minder.

But, in my opinion Martin Clunes is brilliant as the local cannabis smoking GP Doc Martin!

This is a very funny film, but gentle with it - Filmed on location in Cornwall, in and around Port Isaac.

The film spawned a sequel, called 'Doc Martin' to explain how he became a GP in Cornwall - Ironically, its now a TV series, but alas the Doc of the series, is not as endearing as the Doc of the movie!

Get this film, you wont regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!!, 10 Sept. 2007
I watched this film all ready to be totally negative - I always believed that Christopher Reeve made this role his own - But to be fair, Brandon Routh has had some bloody big shoes to fill, and he has done it admirably!

This is Superman coming back to Earth after being away for five years on a kind of pilgrimage to his devasted home-world.

Kate Bosworth plays Supermans former love interest Lois Lane, who is now a mom with an impending marriage. The always good Frank Langella is cast as the fiery Perry White, boss of the Daily Planet.

But the casting of Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, in my opinion was inspired! He is just so good as a bad guy!

Anyway, enough of me wibbling on, grab yer wallet, get the movie, put yer feet up and enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 10 Sept. 2007
Forget all the negative reviews - I personally thought that this was a damn good film!

With good solid performances from Tom Hanks, Audrey Tatou & Sir Ian McKellan... Kudos too, to Jean Reno and a notable acknowledgement to Paul Bettany as the slightly psychotic monk Silas.

Alfred Molina is also in the film, cast well as a Bishop, even Jurgen Prochnow has a small part as the manager of a swiss bank.

The film moves at a cracking pace, and although not as good as the book - What film ever is? - It is still a worthy movie to have in your dvd collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars At Worlds End - And What An End!!, 18 Aug. 2007
Well having read some of the negative reviews for this film, I'm wondering if they've been watching the same film as myself!

My family and I thought this film was way better than the slow 'Dead Mans Chest' and on a par with the brilliant 'Curse Of The Black Pearl'

Once again Mr Depp steals all the scenes as Jack... er, Capt Jack Sparrow - The supporting cast as per usual, are brilliant! There's no point in me raving on about this film as I'm biast... although there is a totally and unexpected twist at the end of film!

If you want to find out more, get off yer bum, buy the DVD when its available, and watch a rollicking good movie!
