2.0 out of 5 stars Badly researched and written, 16 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The first thing I noticed about this book is how flimsy it seemed when I opened the package. But not wanting to judge a book by its cover I entered into it with an open mind. Alas, my first impression was correct. I'm not sure about the target audience of (inexperienced?) asset managers but as a professional with 15 years equity derivative trading and analytics experience, I found this book so wanting on the one hand in terms of content and insight that it should only appeal to complete novices but then also devoid of explanation of various terms that it probably would not help them either! For example, the author jumps straight in and talks about skew without explaining what it is (for the novices) and not stating how he calculated it (90-110 strikes?) for those that are already familiar with the term. The illustrations are copy/paste out of Excel, most without captions or sufficient explanation to compel me to study them with any vigor. The book has good intentions and a couple of nuggets which gets it 2 stars from me but I would not recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow key response and bad angle, 7 Sept. 2012

This keyboard is fine. It looks good and is of good build quality. However, the key response is sometimes quite slow (and I'm not an Olympic typist or anything!) and the tablet only has one angle to sit at which I did not find a particularly convenient one. I had a probelm getting it to work with the Tab 2 as reported by others too but it worked after a few attempts of making sure the tablet was very firmly located (so probably the difference in tablet thickness causing the problem?).

All in all, not great value for money. I prefer to use the on-screen keyboard and this Solid Aluminum Ultra-thin and lightweight Multiple Angles Available Folding Stand, Mount, Holder for iPad, iPad 2, New iPad(iPad 3), Samsung Galaxy Tab, BlackBerry Playbook and Other Tablets for a lot less money.

Bought this and Portable Lightweight Universal Foldable Desk Stand For Apple iPad, iPad 2, Notebook's, Laptop's, Netbook's & Tablet PC's - Silver so I could compare. Both are good but this one shades it for me as it is more solid.

Bought these to go with newly acquired ASUS RT-N66U - 900Mbps Dual Band Wireless N Router. Literally plugged in and worked. Simple enough to configure the SSID too if you want to change from the default. Good, solid build quality and look great too. Wired connectivity and extended WIFI with no hassle!

5.0 out of 5 stars ASUS RT-N66U, 7 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this to replace my old Billion router which had great reviews. For the price, this is a much more impressive piece of kit. Build quality is top drawer. Actually had to replace the Billion because one of the antennas snapped off. The Asus is much more solid and looks great with the blue LEDs! The GUI interface is really nice and easy to navigate and configure the router. Had no problems setting up with my newly acquired DrayTek Vigor 120 - DSL modem. Took less than 5 mins with BT Broadband ISP. Range is about the same as the Billion. I lose signal after about 20 metres through a couple of rooms/doors and up the stairs. Installed TP Link TL-WPA281KIT AV200 Powerline Extender with Wireless N Access Point Starter Kit to ensure whole house WIFI coverage, again no problems at all.

Good value modem, solid plastic construction, easy to configure, working without any issues since day one with both my old Billion wireless modem/router and new ASUS RT-N66U - 900Mbps Dual Band Wireless N Router. I recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beware US version otherwise 5 stars, 14 Aug. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I tried to give this product 5 stars as it worked straight out of the box, the keyboard is responsive and the mouse is quick and smooth. However, I was not able to write the review within 48 hours of purchase. This turned out to be a good thing as I discovered a little bug. A number of keys were not correctly mapped to the UK standard (on Windows 7). I spoke with Perixx who confirmed that the black keyboard is actually US standard. Only the white one is UK standard. There will be a black UK in Oct 2012. Apparently, this is published in the product listing but I didn't see it (probably because I was not looking, expecting to simply buy a UK standard keyboard in the UK?!). So, if you don't want to have to change your regional language keyboard settings to US international for this keyboard to work properly then buy the white one or wait till Oct for the black one!
