1.0 out of 5 stars Very high running costs, 8 Oct 2010
Yes, it was cheap to buy BUT the cartridges last no time at all. The problem that I've encountered after having the printer for a few months is that it will not print a mono page if the colour cartridge has run out! I try to keep colour printing to a minimum as that is the more expensive cartridge, but it is incredibly frustrating to be unable to print at all when it's run out.

In the end it's counter-productive because I wouldn't buy Canon again. I also have a Samsung laser printer bought from Amazon - mono only - the cartridge lasts much longer and for general text printing I think that this is the way to go.

As You Do: Adventures With Evel, Oliver, and The Vice-President Of Botswana
As You Do: Adventures With Evel, Oliver, and The Vice-President Of Botswana

2.0 out of 5 stars Rather disappointing, 16 July 2009
Hamster comes across very well on TV and I was expecting a similar level of humour here. Sadly, it's lacking. A disproportionate amount of the book is taken up with the Arctic adventure, going into rather obsessive detail, so much so that it became very dull indeed. The other stories are interesting, but I think that more anecdotes could have been put in on different aspects of the programme. He does not write nearly as well as the other two, but his background is broadcasting rather than written journalism. I agree with one of the other reviewers that the language is way too strong as his fan base will include children. Clarkson did comment once that Hammond is prone to swearing (a lot), but it should have been edited out of the book. It isn't big and it isn't clever Richard, so please keep it out of your books. As a TG fan I'd be interested in future books, but I think I'll be getting them from the library rather than buying them. I guess that as TG is now a 'brand' we can expect more 'product', let's just hope it isn't dashed out whilst they're all still on the crest of the current massive wave...

Make Serious Money on EBay UK: The Bestselling Guide to Buying and Selling on EBay - and Beyond

2.0 out of 5 stars Promised much, delivered little!, 18 Feb 2008
Not a bad start for those who are new to ebay. However, for the more experienced seller it's very frustrating. There are occasional hints as to potentially very good ideas, but the answer is just to look them up on Google! Dan, you've had my money and I expect better. As he is still involved with eBay he is unable or unwilling to criticise - eBay isn't perfect, but nothing here is anything but praise. Similarly, his references to Paypal are gushing in the extreme - no hints as to how to avoid getting scammed by the massive holes in paypal's policies, no warnings about fees, payment delays, account suspension etc. The definitive eBay book is yet to be written - it may help if Dan Wilson becomes truly independent and puts his inside knowledge to good use.
