1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this. it's useless, 11 Sep 2014

Absolute pants.

I specifically spent a bit of money on (what I thought was) a good quality cover. However, one smashed phone screen later, I bitterly regret buying this cover. As can be seen from the photo, there is little protection along the base of the phone (unlike bumper covers).

The phone dropped to the floor (not from a great height), with the cover fully folded over and was absolutely useless in protecting the phone. Save your money, buy an otterbox or something similar instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book, a great read - recommended for anyone, 5 July 2012

This review is from: The Shadow Of The Wind (Paperback)
Though it took me a while to start, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was so engaging and I just loved the rich, fruity language that it used. The type of book you could lend to anyone and they will enjoy it.

Great story telling, dramatic moments and an interesting family of characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just incredible, 9 Aug 2011

This review is from: The Book Thief (Paperback)
This book reminds me of why I love reading so much. Have just stayed up till 2:30 in the morning to finish it... something I haven't done in about five years. Beautifully written and a very interesting historical time, as well as loveingly portrayed relationships and village life.

The ending is just superb and I have to admit to crying quite a bit.

Buy it, read it, you will just adore it.

Pragmatic Unit Testing in Java with Junit (Pragmatic Programmers)

Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but basic, 5 Aug 2011

This is not a bad book but I would only buy it if you have absolutely no experience of unit-testing.

It's well written and easy to understand but the subject matter is very basic and only suitable for beginners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart, fun, informative, 5 May 2011

This review is from: Bad Science (Paperback)
A smart, informative book that points out the dumbing down of our culture and the consequences of this.

It also explores the dubious claims of various alternative and gives the reader a good overview about what questions to ask and why when cure all claims and panicked headlines are the order of the day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and informative, 7 April 2011

This is a fantastic book. It can be used as a reference or just read as a book. At the moment, I'm looking up the food I eat every day in it. Its well laid out and very easy to read and browse though.

It has plenty of scientific information but without making your eyes glaze over. It's presented in a very user friendly fashion. Would recommend this book to anyone with even a vague interest in what and how they eat.

3.0 out of 5 stars More decorating than cup cake, 3 Aug 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Cupcake Magic (Hardcover)
I actually really like this book. I use the lemon cake recipe over and over again to great applause from various recipients.

However I do think it's essentially a cake decoration book. There are only about six basic recipes for the whole book, all the rest is about how to decorate it and some very pretty pictures.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just didn't like it, 3 Aug 2010

I was looking forward to this book very much but was terribly unimpressed when it arrived. It was boring, the recipes didn't appeal to me and it wasn't even that particularly pretty. There are far nicer books out there. This one ended up in the charity shop bin.

5.0 out of 5 stars So lovely, 30 July 2010

Bought this for a friend who loves cook books. I haven't actually cooked anything but it looks lovely, there's some nice family history, photos and tales behind the recipes and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
