Nothing to do with the film. The disk just doesn't work., 25 Feb 2014
I put the Blu-Ray into the Blu-Ray player and it didn't work. A legal disclaimer came on the screen (nothing strange there), then the BFI ident played (still nothing strange), but after that there was a blank screen and nothing happened. I looked at the writing on the display of the player itself and it said menu, but on the screen there was nothing.
As you can probably guess I took it back and asked for a replacement and they had to order it in for me. When the replacement came I was excited to finally see the film, but when I put the Blu-Ray in the player the same thing happened again. Is there a problem with my Blu-Ray player? All of my other Blu-Rays work fine (Including the BFI Blu-Ray release of another Ozu film Good Morning) I don't know what's different about this one. Any guesses?
