1.0 out of 5 stars How to suck the joy out of being in nature, 8 Mar. 2016
This book claims to draw on the ethos of Forest School. As a Forest School Leader, I can say with certainty that the author has missed the point completely. We do have adventures in woodlands but they are child-led NOT based on "recipes" as the book puts forward. Our activities are based on nature connection activities which make the most of the rich resources nature herself provides and would NEVER involve bringing all the unnatural materials that his activities suggest into the natural environment. Glitter for example is non-biodegradable and could cause death to wildlife if ingested. He also advocates using modelling clay. Making clay faces or tree spirits is something we do at Forest School but we use potters clay (or clay dig up from site if the soil is suitable). Modelling clay contains polymers i.e. tiny bits of plastic, which again pose a danger to wildlife. Basically the author has taken well known fun activities from the school playground, e.g. making a volcano with coke and has put them in a woodland setting, presumably to capitalise on the rise in popularity of Forest School and outdoor learning. Please don't buy this book & please don't take all the plastic & chemicals that the activities contained in it require into a beautiful natural setting, which already has everything a child could want for an adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, 29 Aug. 2013

Much cheaper than other ones on the market & seems well made. Looks like it'll last a long time. Instructions are pretty useless though but fairly easy to figure out what to do. To loosen it after use you have to break the back of the ratchet - it took me a while to figure this out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very useful overview, 13 July 2013

Really informative look at lots of different aspects of Forest School. Some inspiring examples of good practice & encourages reflection. Would have been 5 stars but for the fact that one or two chapters weren't as well written/thought out as all the rest.
Definitely worth buying.

It was really inspring until about 3/4 way through. A little too much on history/background of yoga for me but as I said, inspiring.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not fit for purpose, 22 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this to use with COD 4 on PS3 as other reviews suggested the sound was clear " as if you're in the same room as the person you're talking to". This is definitely NOT the case. I have a blue tooth headset but wanted a wired one so that I didn't run out of battery. The bluetooth one is very clear and does indeed sound as if you're sitting next to the person chatting. The Logitech sounds much fainter when listening and the person you're talking to can't hear you unless you shout and even then they only catch certain words as the sound constantly breaks up. Disappointed and shall be returning the headset.

3.0 out of 5 stars trainers, 16 Jun. 2010
Ok for the money ie much cheaper than other similar ones like MBTs or Reebok & I don't know how they compare but they tend to slip off a bit at the heel which I guess encourages you to walk heel first.
