5.0 out of 5 stars A very enjoyable read., 16 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is an excellent debut novel. Well crafted with a very good use of language. The storyline is tight knit, well paced and very enjoyable. The characters are well rounded, interesting individuals. The basic idea seems very similar to the science fiction television series The Librarians; I do not know whether this book is the inspiration for the series, or was inspired by it; but either way, I hope the author produces more novels using the same setting and characters.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy this atrocious thing., 24 July 2015

Do NOT buy this dreadful thing. This is the most appallingly badly written thing I have ever read, I do not believe even a fan club where fiction writing standards are often much lower than usual would accept this item. I am also convinced not even a vanity house, much less a professional publisher would ever dream of accepting it.
There is no plot, pages are spent describing the cooking and eating of meals followed by a single paragraph of alleged story. it is naive and unrealistic in the extreme, swathes of it simply do not even make sense. The perpetrator of this thing, (I cannot in conscience use the terms writer/author or novella in this context) has no idea of dialogue, with a great deal of repetition in a speech and faults such as characters introducing themselves at the end of a conversation. Pagiarism is rife, the spelling, grammar, sentence structure and punctuation are atrocious. I can only conclude it was produced by a very immature person for whom possibly English is not his or her first language.

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, 4 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I found this story short, trivial, with only the poorest of excuses for claiming to be a "Dr Who" story with the Doctor being conspicious by his absence and only mentioned briefly, in passing. I don't think the author could make up his mind whether he was writing a Dr Who story or channelling Raymond Chandler. Don't waste your money!

2.0 out of 5 stars hmmmm . . ., 4 May 2013

Very disappointing - story line seems to be wandering away from Star Trek and becoming a soap opera about Riker and Troi

Average at best. Frankly I got bored after reading about three quarters of the story. The plot could have been tightened up and pace improved considerably for a more interesting story
