1.0 out of 5 stars Duped, 20 April 2014

Bought this book after hearing of Sarah through the alleged bullying but feel duped after finding out it was a hoax. Great advertisement though it seems as all the books have more than tripled in price

5.0 out of 5 stars Great intro to a fun fantasy series, 20 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Loved this introduction into this fun unique series based on the tales of the brothers Grimm.

Mina has moved schools and states throughout her childhood with no reason other than she drew attention to herself. She's settled and even has a normal life but her mothers ready to jump ship again when she saves a student and it's all over the news but she's tired of running and wants some answers.

The characters were fun, the story engaging and detail filled and you were really drawn into the story and Mina's personal struggles.
Bought book 2 straight away

3.0 out of 5 stars Wanted something abit more adult, 20 April 2014
This review is from: The Chosen (Kindle Edition)
The story started out very strong with a unique plot line and characters but their interactions lacked credibility as non existent relationships formed over night into close bonds which was very unbelievable amongst teenagers.

The book was fast paced and is suitable for younger readers but I wanted something with more action and excitement.

5.0 out of 5 stars great intro into the series, 20 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Great intro for a new Series with a climactic ending ready for the sequel.

Heidi and Isaiah have been sent to Earth as their realm where they rule over the Sun and Moon/ Fire and Ice is at War and their Fathers wanted to protect their progenys.
Heidi who had never visited Earth has found it very hard to adjust and has a non existent social life while Isaiah lives it up with partying and women.
He's the only one who knows who Heidi really is but is also the one person who irritates her the most and she's stuck with him away from friends and family while their future hangs in the balance.

Loved Heidi and her fumbling learning human ways, she was fun to read about but seemed a little childish at time which is forgiven due to her sheltered upbringing as a Princess.

There were certainly peaks in the story drawing you along and it had a strong ending making you want to continue on with their journey.
Also the new cover for the story is great and much more compelling with a very good likeness to Heidi

3.0 out of 5 stars good but not great, 20 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The blurb drew men in and promised an exciting paranormal romance but it was lacking for me.

The story moved too quick, lacked details, the characters were one dimensional and Gina's reaction to situations lacked credibility.

I enjoyed the book but i'm in no hurry to purchase the sequel.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as i'd hoped, 8 April 2014
Wish I could have like it more but the last 3 books just haven't been 5* material for me.
I thought this would mainly be about Wrath and the Brotherhood again but there were p.o.v's from Trez, iAm, Assail, Xcor, Layla. Too many needless extra's to count.

I love the Bastards so why can't the next book be Xcor's? Not thrilled with it being about the Shadows as I don't really count them as being part of this world and Trez's drama seems ott, I mean just suck it up already.

The few Beth and Wrath scenes I read were great and full of drama but wanted MORE!!! Miss the kick ass drama of the first 6/7 books

*Spoiler* I didn't want the Series to end but ending on them choosing Wrath as King would have been perfect as he had his wife, son, crown and was happy so why drag it out? Plus in the extra book you can see Phury has a son and it's obvious mary and rhage will adopt so don't get to the point of LKH where it becomes awful to read. PLEASE

5.0 out of 5 stars another great book in the series, 26 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Another great installment in this series that had me read it constantly in 2 days. Haven't felt so pulled into a series where i've genuinly wanted to learn more about the characters in a while so glad i've found this.

After the shocking conclusion in book 2 Rachel is now in the City and is trying to figure out her future witha new baby on the way and no Gavin. Her blood hunger has tripled and she thinks her killings have gone under the radar until the local Coven introduce themselves and give her an offer she can't refuse.

Lots of secrets and drama were revealed in The Unborn and we lose a main character which was shocking as I really thought they'd continue to be a problem for the characters in books to come.
The Coven Rachel seeks solice from has a very unusual leader the likes of which Duncan once didn't even know existed so it sturs the pot and shakes everyones emotions about.

This certainly wasn't a happy book but seeing more of the Satyrs is always fun and I hope we learn more about them and the Nympths. I actually felt abit bad for Aries but if all goes to plan for him he'll end up happy in the future so he can screw himself in the mean time, I really got into the drama if you couldn't tell!

Can't wait for the sequel and to see how all the characters lives have progressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great follow up in a new series, 25 Mar. 2014

Great sequel in the serious without a doubt, sometimes they go downhill after book one but this was just as captivating for me.

Rachel and Gavin are settling into Married life and thinking toward the future, at a family dinner Gavin's brother Ian arrives and Rachel begins to see more of Gavin's past revealed. Things are perfect at first but Gavin seemingly starts to revert back to his old hunting ways with no one knowing why.

Blood hunger is an unavoidable part of being a Vampire but innocents must be kept safe and unaware which becomes an issue when Gavin disappears.

The characters, storyline and plot have all developed but lost none of the edge.
I did wonder how the story would play out without Gavin's regular appearance but Ian was a good fill in for him and the drama he caused and revealed was gripping.

The twist at the end was fantastic and set the scene perfectly for the sequel which I bought as soon as I finished it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great start to a series, 25 Mar. 2014

review Rachel Landry has suffered with Mental Health issues her entire life where even her parents needed a break from her but a knock at the door one evening shows her that the voices in her head aren't a sign of her being crazy but innermost thoughts of her neighbours.

Gavin has been a Vampire for a long time and has struggled with his control until an injured woman in the woods years ago tests his restraint. The time has come where he can finally come face to face with Rachel again but it's not under the circumstances he'd like.

Gavin and Rachel are a perfect book couple for me, not too cliche or over powering. Rachel is your typical woman and I instantly gelled with her, she has her own will but most importantly she has common sense which is often lacking in heroines.
Gavin is the ultimate dreamboat leading male where you really can't get better. Alpha males really get on my nerves and although Gavin is certainly masculine he's only a pussycat when it comes to Rachel.

There was drama, romance and action so all bases were covered. The Paranormal element of the Vampires and Satyrs was well done and the villains were numerous for Rachel so you never got too comfortable whilst reading.
The location of Nova Scotia was a fantasy in and of itself with the dense woods and coatline, definitely makes me want to visit there.

Really enjoyed this story and the little sizzle it gave with the erotic scenes. I was hooked and drawn into their world and I eagerly started straight onto book two
