5.0 out of 5 stars Really useful bit of kit, very reliable., 16 April 2015

Upgrading my desktop recently, i decided to keep hold of the old one and put it to good use without cluttering my desk with another Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor. The connection cables were ample length, the switch is responsive and easy to locate being on the end of a command cable although a sticky pad might have been handy to fix it in place. Response is rapid and i've had no issues so far at all. Very pleased with this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't get your hopes up for hours of cable free laptop usage., 16 April 2015

Installed into a Lenovo T61, i was kind of hoping for some decent life out of this, but i still only get about 1 hour 30 - 2 hours out of this with normal use. fit well and it was a fast delivery and well packaged, but still can't shake off the feeling the battery itself should have been better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big and Heavy, feels good and durable., 16 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These Invicta watches are good, heavy bits of kit. As other reviews mention, don't get this if you've got skinny wrists, you'll just be lost in it, but I like the heavy durable feel of the Invicta build on my wrist. I do question the "original selling price" of most of the Invicta watches, but for the price i paid, i'm not arguing. the Rose gold colour of this one looks really slick, i just wish they did one of the chronographs in this colour. My next on the wish list is the Blue face Chrono.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yay! more Polity, more Drones!, 16 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Any fans of the Polity novels, including the more recent "The Technician" will like this. A continuation of the story of Penny Royal, it includes Prador, separatist criminals, and a wider discussion on what the mind and memory mean to a person in a universe of immortality and transhuman migration of the mind. Nice and grungy, and i'm eagerly awaiting the second book in the series, i hope it isn't too far away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and Cheerful but quite adequate., 16 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These straps are always pretty cheap and cheerful, but the webbing strap is good quality and strong, and with a bit of adjustment you can get the cushioned pad right. only downside with both of the straps i've bought is that the Sony Alphas they've gone on have the fold out screen colliding with a plastic lip on the baseplate designed to stop the baseplate rotating under the camera, and i've needed to shave the lip down somewhat to fit it and not interrupt the screen, but that's not affected it. very comfy and makes the camera a lot more convenient to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent, a perfect rendition of Connelly's work., 26 Feb. 2014

[Edited post-season release]

I have to admit to never having spent too much time working out what Harry Bosch would look like in real life, but Titus Welliver is perfect for Harry. So far I can see high production values, good visual direction, acting up to and beyond the levels you expect for this kind of cop drama. To a previous reviewer commenting on clichéd cop dramas, clichés don't necessarily mean it's bad :)

I do hope the voting ends up in favour of a full blown season of Bosch, I've been a fan of the books for years, and given some of the more hum-drum cop dramas out there, we do need something distinctive, and I think Welliver's delivery gives a nice strong lead for the series. I'll be very disappointed if we don't get more of this. Top marks Amazon Studios... gimme!

[Post Season release]

Well, after watching the re-edited Pilot, I was more than happy to finally get the whole season, and it didn't disappoint. Although the continuity with the books has the Series post-Eleanor Wish, and Post Daughter, there was still enough of Harry's backstory to roll alongside the main plot, and Titus Welliver really showed he can work the role as Harry. Welliver can be subtle, and when he needs to be, hard as diamond. The re-done credits really work with the show and Harry's Jazz taste as well, being Jazz-like, and contemporary and really set up the show for me.

Technically, the show is as the pilot, above par; and all the acting, from Jason Gedrick's wonderfully creepy Reynard Waits, to Lance Reddick's supercilious Irvin Irving was equally above par. I see another review commenting that it's just another Cop Drama, but Connelly's books have a lot of decent meat on them, and a nice local feel to them, the geography and personality of L.A. works for Bosch just as Ystad, Sweden does for Mankell's Wallander. I can only hope that the success of this opening season allows for the development of Connelly's other books.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent case, 16 Dec. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
very nice, comfy case. i was worried that the fold at the top would get strained, but the Hemp construction is very flexible and comfortable to hold. The embroidery on the front is a very nice touch indeed.

the only comment i would make is that the photos show a popper clip to hold the case closed, but this has been replaced with magnetic clasps which don't wrap under the bottom lip of the case, but these feel better than a popper clip would anyway!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent, just what we techy peeps have been looking for!, 20 Nov. 2000
For those of us already up to speed with the html code, or the authorship tools, a book which only briefly touches on tips and tweaks for code, but really delves into the dirt of structuring a site to keep the attention of an audience is brilliant. I've been html-ing for 2-3 years, and this book was a major help.... even for a book published 3 years back, the lack of html code means it can still hold it's own. For those who really want to produce professional sites, a must-buy...
