My First Book of Ocean Life
My First Book of Ocean Life
by Alison Howard
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good non fiction book, 12 May 2013

Great non fiction book for young children. Wonderful photos and simple text but enough of it to appeal to children from 4 to 7. This book is one of a series and they are all really good. Great if you have a child really interested in non fiction at a young age.

We used this story to create the wow factor at the start of our imaginary places topic. The train goes to lots of different lands so we turned each class into a different land and the children travelled to each place with their magic ticket. Lots to look at in the pictures and a catchy song that sings you through each page

The hearing impaired children in reception at school loved this book. It produces lots of laughs over his bottom being blue. Good to engage children who perhaps don't always engage with books

This is a great book if you want to discover how to be outstanding. Simple to read and easy ideas to embed in your practise. Small book too so can be read quite quickly when you are a busy teacher. Bits on planning, differentiation, getting children thinking, ways to creating inspiring lessons on a daily basis.

This book is really popular in my classroom. The children love guessing the characters from the shadows. On home visits I must have read this book in nearly every house as it was the one the children always chose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring the water tray to life, 12 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I don't know about you but sometimes I just run out of inspiration for ideas for areas like this at school. This gives lots of great fresh ideas most of which are really easy to put into practise. Lovely pictures of the activities and list of resources needed, none of which are hard to find. The children's interests have really been grabbed by this book as is evident when no more children can fit round the water tray but they still try too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for day and night comparison, 12 May 2013

My class really like this book and it sparked lots of interest in what comes out in the day and what ones out at night. Also how you can be friends with someone even if they are different to you.
