5.0 out of 5 stars Right Place Right Book, 31 Dec 2013
Found this to be a great read. It was well written and the autobiographical account of George's life was a pleasure to read.

I really enjoyed this book. It took me a while to finish it though because every couple of pages i had to stop reading and then google the many names and theories that would crop up in the book.

If you like the Simpsons and you love Mathematics this is an excellent read.

However i was very disappointed that it did not contain 1729 pages

;)

1.0 out of 5 stars An Awfully Written Story About A Great Man, 18 Aug 2013
This review is from: Red or Dead (Kindle Edition)
Bill Shankly will go down in history as the greatest manager that ever lived and rightly so.

However, this book was a total nightmare to read. An excruciatingly painful read that was far too repetitive and far too long.

Anyone who tells you this book is a magnificent read is seriously trying to pull the wool over your eyes and the pounds from your pocket.

I just can't believe that it was given the green light to be published in the way that it was.

Countless times during the reading of this book I found myself having to skip large passages of writing when the same words, phrases and blocks of text just kept being repeated and regurgitated. Why does the author have to subject his readers to this? I'm lost for words unlike the Author.

Thankfully the Legend of Bill Shankly transcends this horrible read of a book.

This book is a wonderful read that takes you on a great journey down memory lane.

It also takes you down many a journey to your nearest general store too, in the hope of finding some of the items in the book.

I made the journey quite a few times to pick up things like Discos, Um Bongo, Refreshers, Nik Naks, Lucozade ......

:)

This book is Amazing.

The authors are immensely gifted and talented people who are able to put across their stories and ideas with great clarity.

In the space of a couple of days i was able to recall

Any 10 random words in order
20 digit numbers in order
Every American State in Alphabetical order
The day of any date given for the year 2013
The numbered position of any letter in the English Alphabet

And more.....

I now have the ability to remember anything i care to remember :)

Remember: If you have ever forgotten anything. Chances are you never remembered it in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars You can bury the truth as deep as you want. Eventually time will unearth it., 31 Jan 2013

This is a great read. I suggest that anyone who has any interest whatsoever in this nation's Police Establishment and those that run it, should read it.

It should also be read by those who are considering a career in the Farce.

If you are not corrupt before you join up, you certainly will be during and after you leave it.

Noble Cause Corruption. Police Integrity.

These guys play by their own made up rules.

The poor frontline have no chance but to follow and then take all the stick from the disgruntled public.

It's about time the MuppETs at the top were held accountable.

"Corruption can never end and the truth will forever be buried as long as the Police continue to investigate themselves"

Behind the Sofa: Celebrity Memories of Doctor Who
Behind the Sofa: Celebrity Memories of Doctor Who
by Steve Berry
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars Memories at the corner of my Tardis, 1 Dec 2012
I received this book in pdf format a few weeks ago.

Originally i had a bit of difficulty reading it from my Kindle and Android devices as the pages were double spread.

It was still possible to read but i had to continuously zoom in and out to get the correct page adjustments to read on a full single page.

I emailed the team behind the book in relation to my minor issue and amazingly within the space of a day or so they sent me back another pdf file where all the pages were in single spread format.

Thank You.

It made the reading experience all that much more enjoyable too.

Perfect.

Like i said before, i received this book a few weeks ago, so why did it take me so long to get through the 200 pages?

Simple, it was such a fantastic read that i wanted to make the reading experience last as long as possible.

Last night i eventually reached the end.

I'm sure however, that this is not the last we have read from it. We have a celebrity edition.

Wait for the normal fan edition now :)

The stories that really impacted on me were from Marc Platt and Michael Kibble-White who both shared their experiences of Alzheimer's Disease that has touched themselves personally or loved one.

Fifth Doctor:

"A man is the sum of his memories. A Time Lord even more so"

"Doctor Who" The Five Doctors (1983)

How true indeed.

It took me about a month to read the 140 pages of this book.

It was not that it was boring or that is was not very well written. The reason it took me so long was because after every paragraph that i read i chose to stop and consider what was written. To try and assimilate what was being put across. On many an occasion i could totally understand and associate the good reasoning behind the advice and how if i changed my ways i could also choose a happier way of life.

How did i come across this book? Was it coincidence?

No, not really. Mr Steve Wetton taught me at Pear Tree Junior School, Derby a quarter of a century ago.

I've always remembered the tales he would share with us and what he had achieved in his life.

I was fortunate to meet him again a few years after our first meeting. I let it be known to him that he used to teach me and how excited i was when i found out that he had written the BBC series Growing Pains.

Ever since then i had always wondered what became of him.

This is his story. And what a fine one it is.

Be Positive. Choose Happiness.
