I only got it as it was cheap and I thought it would show off the 3d to good effect. In all honestly, the game is a bit too simple and a bit too fast to appreciate the 3d. You are always going round corners and changing direction which makes it a bit hard on the eyes. The two other mini games are ok but not as good as the games they try to emulate.

One to avoid. Unless of course you are the age it is aimed at, in which case it is probably great fun.

It is a weird one but a good one. Sort of deep house with an experimental twist as there are field recordings from japan mixed in with it.

Being a fan of Bates and Ballamy, I have always been curious about Loose Tubes. Every now and again I would type the name into Amazon and see the odd 80s issue CD on sale for £30+. Last time however, this CD popped up.

What does it sound like? Well, it is a well recorded live album. No complaints on that front. If you are familiar with Django Bates and his friends then the music will be what you expect. Big band arrangements that go from quiet and jazzy to explosions is a brass factory. It must have been marvellous to see them when they really got going.

Does anyone know why their stuff has been unavailable for so long?

I really loved Mr T's first album and the live one, but this one is a bit different though. This is one of those albums where the primarily electronic artist gets a band in to play his latest music. It is less of an ambient techno album like the first and has more of an organic feel to it. Make of that what you will.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as they said it was!, 4 Oct. 2010

I picked this game up for a fiver being fully aware of its history and I have to say the critics were a bit harsh on it. It's not a really great game and its not a really bad one either. I have played it through once and certainly enjoyed it. A few points though ...

1 - Cutscenes. I skipped all of them and can't say it really affected my enjoyment of the game. There is something vaguely Norse going on and a few robots as well. I am sure it wouldn't have made much sense if i had watched them.
2 - Controls. One stick controls walking and the other the direction of your attacks. If you have a hammer you can slide about and if you have two pistols you can shoot two things at once. I never entirely felt I was in control of the game as you don't attack particular enemies, just the ones in that general direction.
3 - RPG elements. This boils down to stopping every now and again, equipping the best weapons/armour you have and selling the rest off. Being able to customise things is a nice touch.

Would i play it through again? Possibly if i wanted a few more easy gamer points. Like Mass Effect you probably have to play it through a few times to get max points.

I have been after something like this for a while. It is all the classic "Boys Own" productions and remixes in one handy set. One disc is originals and the other is remixes. They are both quite different in their own way. If you were a fan of Baggy and Madchester and all those sorts of thing then you will like this.

If VW are US college kids doing African music then these chaps are the exact opposite. African kids doing US college rock. It is fairly groovey with a bit of tribal drumming and chanting but it is mainly a guitar rock album. It is definitely not like Fela or Tinariawen. Having said that it is good and quite epic in places. Well worth checking out.

I read a couple of good reviews about the album and thought I would splash out on it. Three CDs for £9 isn't bad. Good points, Oneida are one of those bands that can jam on a groove without it getting boring and repetative. I think there are some fast ones, some slow ones and some with vocals on. Bad points, some of the tracks are 10 or 20 mins long and it can all blend into one if you are not careful. Not even 2 hours of music on 3 CDs.

Well worth a try though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Like Napoleon, small and power hungry, 12 Aug. 2009

I have had the camera a couple of weeks now and it is exactly what I was expecting. It is small, sturdy and powers on in under a second.

My only gripe is the batteries it gets through. While it says you can get 2 hours of film on a 8Gb SD card, you would also need to swap batteries at least once during that time, probably even more if you are taking odd bits of film here and there.

Just to second all the other 5 star reviews and say that this is one of the best slabs of moody electronica you will find anywhere. There is something about the production that is just perfect. I played it a couple of times on Spotify and had to get the CD. Now I have a couple of his other records on order, it's that good!
