4.0 out of 5 stars A classic, 25 Oct. 2003
This review is from: Born Again (Audio CD)
This album's unfortunate cover, with a red baby sporting fangs and claws, make it look like one of those you find in a bargain bin at petrol stations. But the material is a hidden treasure. I don't think people have given it enough credit. To some due to the fact that it's not Ozzy singing, and to some because they think Ian Gillan belongs in Deep Purple, who is singing instead. But if you just listen to the music, you'll find that this album is a well deserved classic of the 80's. Ian Gillan voice is simply awesome and there are some true gems on this album. I like then all, and I think everybody ought to give this album a try. You won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid!, 25 Oct. 2003
There are some albums you buy for the sake of a couple of songs and there are some albums that are solid. This is one of the latter. One of those you can listen to many times. These songs all suit Joan Baez's strong, powerful voice and they are very well arranged. She brings life to old songs in a way that make them feel like new songs rather than covers. I don't normally buy live albums, because of the background noice and the untimely whistles from the audience, but here the audience is an asset and adds to the ambience. It was recorded in a bullring in Bilbao in 1988. There are moments on this album when I get chills down my back, every time I hear them. "Ellan danzan solas" brings on quite a few in fact.
