3.0 out of 5 stars RETURNED to the catalogue..., 27 Nov. 2001
sorry but I have been collecting Grand Central ever since their birth in possibly 95/96... every singel release. I used to be absolutely fanatical about the label but lately I must admit the material has got much weaker. Since around 1999. This album was quite a disappointment for me, just less power in the breaks, the funk diminishing... I would advise anyone thinking of buying this to give it a GOOD listen to first, and if you can, to purchase from the earlier releases in the catalogue. Especially the first LP: 'Frying The Fat': sheer genius.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolute brilliance, 25 Nov. 2001
This review is from: Two Pages (Audio CD)
this album is my personal favourite of the DECADE. sheer brilliance, 4 hero are the genius' of contemporary music and deserve to get massive props for their depth and scope, maturity etc in their approach to an album that transcends 'dance', 'jazz', 'afro-funk' etc - any narrow-minded categorisation. They've been around a long time and now is the time that they're 'Heading to the Light' - ironically one of their first singles way back in 92.

I cannot believe there is no review here by ANYONE... absolutely amazed. Excellent material, some tracks being very different in their incorporation of influences, while others intermingle seamlessly the variety with the flick of a wrist into a solid piece of aural funk that is never self-indulgent, but just expands on the notion that Spacer knows music, many different genres, and appreciates all. If you enjoy Nuphonic esp. Faze Action, then check this! Nu wave disco... Tuff afro-funk -disco flava's... very progressive electronica. Nuff said. Check it.

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely the bomb, 7 Nov. 2001
This review is from: Northern Sulphuric Soul (Audio CD)
I cannot stress how seriously tuff this cd is, Rae and Christian simply prove white boys can funk! This album has ruffneck funk, soul, hip hop influences that transcend wordplay so I'll stop now... for all serious heads whom appreciate the heavyweight beat presha - check this out. One of the favourites of all time - quite some accolade to give.

5.0 out of 5 stars extremely cheap..., 24 Sept. 2001
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I won't be using this for my digi-cam as I have a Sony which uses the 'memory-stick'... but rather for my Rio 500. The last time I bought a 64mb memory module for it ... it cost about 110 GBP so I'm buying another now as this really is a steal. Be careful to put them back in their cases though, the memory card's RAM is very exposed - prone to scratching - ouch.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent fusions, 18 Sept. 2001
This review is from: Moving Cities (Audio CD)
very very good album full of unique collages of very individualistic elements which through unique skill are fused together brilliantly. Strings, African chanting (heard they made the trip down for original vocalist business!), funk, hip hop etc etc woven together brilliantly. Maybe one could pull out the 'Afro Jazz' label here? I think this is more for the open-minded but if you like stuff on Language Records etc then definitely give this a try. Unlike anything else... blazing their own trail. Big up Faze Action massive!

5.0 out of 5 stars seamless fusion of deadly styles..., 4 Sept. 2001
This review is from: Crime in the City (Audio CD)
Brilliant album, the skill involved to seamlessly integrate funk, disco, jazz, house, hip hop together shows this album to transcend many within stereotypical genres out there. Far from being dry, this album oozes soul and funk, I don't normally like House much but here, Kojak show how it should be done. No boring repetition, rather just a lock on the groove and they roll with it... 5/5 no doubt. Must be listened to to be believed.

5.0 out of 5 stars sheer class, 26 Feb. 2001
This review is from: Grandia II (Video Game)
Had Grandia 2 and Skies of Arcadia since Dec 00 (import from the US) and find these to be the most original and stunning games on the Dreamcast. Next-gen. Graphics are fantastic, gameplay fast, dialogue not-too-tedious, Skies having a better storyline really. If you own a Dreamcast, get these - piece of DC history. SUPPORT OUR DREAMCAST! (btw, Skies of Arcadia - double disk, clocks in at around 50 hours, worthwhile for the $$$ spent)
