3.0 out of 5 stars Not Sharp, 1 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Hatchet is a good size and weight, but not sharp. I expect that the edge of a new tool such as this would be dangerously sharp, but this tool is completely blunt. It doesn't even have an edge to sharpen with a stone, you'll need to create one. Not good for a product at this price.

1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING - Fake CAT5e, 14 Oct 2012

Not a real CAT5e cable, you can go and look at many other 1 star reviews for details. Utter rubbish. Not capable of syncing at 1Gbps.

2.0 out of 5 stars I'm sending this unit back., 8 Feb 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The box that arrived had been taped back shut, a clear sign that this unit was not new, but refurbished. The box contained no user manual or remote control and hence will be sending it back. Shame on Amazon for selling second hand goods pretending to be new. That is actually illegal.

Apart from that the heater works and is relatively silent. The bright LCD screen like a torch which renders it USELESS for a bedroom, how can product designers get things like this so wrong!?!?!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stands out from all the other "Bread Books", 1 Feb 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Tartine Bread (Hardcover)
If like me you have a passion for really great bread, then understanding the author's own passion is for me an essential aspect of his recipes. The first part of the book (a chapter you can skip if you like) takes you on a journey of his discovery and bread baking apprenticeships. For me this set the whole scene for what was to come and gave me a deeper appreciation for the slightly different styles and techniques which followed.

Chad outlines techniques and timings that other books leave out. I have many many books on the subject of making bread and this is the only one that gives you a real understanding of WHEN the starter/leaven/dough is ready to move on to the next stage in order to maximise flavor and rise. A complete eye-opener!

I simply can't recommend this book enough and will definitely be visiting the bakery store when I am next in San Francisco.
