5.0 out of 5 stars Dr Who Death to the Daleks, 22 Jun 2013

A very good story featuring the Daleks who for once couldn't kill anyone, due to a force field which interfered with their ray gun and the Doctor's Tardis. Jon Pertwee as usual is excellent as the Doctor.

Doctor Who - The Krotons [DVD] [1968]
Doctor Who - The Krotons [DVD] [1968]
Dvd ~ Patrick Troughton
Price: 7.90

4.0 out of 5 stars Dr Who The Krotons, 22 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I much prefer the original Dr Who series to the more recent ones. This story may not have been Patrick Toughton's best story but I still enjoyed it. Despite the limited budget that meant that a lot of the early Dr Who location scenes were filmed in a quarry they were usually well acted and had an atmosphere all of their own.

Wonder Woman: Season 2 [DVD] [2005]
Wonder Woman: Season 2 [DVD] [2005]
Dvd ~ Lynda Carter
Price: 15.23

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonder Woman Season 2 DVD, 28 Jan 2012
The first series was set during World War 2 but the second series moves on about 30 years to the 1970's. Wonder Woman teams up with the son of the Steve Trevor that she knew during the 1940's. Steve Trevor Jnr is a IADC agent and is rescued from a sabotaged aeroplane flight by Wonder Woman and the other amazons of paradise island. Princess Diana decides to go back out into the world to help Trevor in his fight against crime and decides the best way to do this is to become and IADC agent herself. The second series is very entertaining to watch especially with inclusion of the IADC's new talking supercomputer IRAC who is the only "one" to guess that Diana Prince and Wonder Woman are the same person.

Anyone who has been following the BBC's Stargazing Live series recently might be interested in this booklet of star charts for the coming year. Authors Nigel Henbest and Heather Cooper's notes that accompany each month's star chart are very clear and easy to understand. I would recommend this book to both beginners without any equipment and to those who have either binoculars or a small telescope.

Gibsons The Last Days Jigsaw Puzzle (636 Pieces)
Gibsons The Last Days Jigsaw Puzzle (636 Pieces)
Price: 9.09

4.0 out of 5 stars Gibson Jigsaw Puzzle The Last Days, 28 Jan 2012
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
We bought this jigsaw puzzle as a gift for a friend who likes both jigsaw puzzles and steam trains. Our friend found putting the jigsaw together very enjoyable and intends framing it, as he has done on previous occassions, to display it on their living room wall. Since he always asks for Gibsons Jigsaws we assume that the quality of the pieces must be very good as well as the actual scene.

Patrick Moore's Yearbook of Astronomy 2012: 50th Anniversary Edition
Patrick Moore's Yearbook of Astronomy 2012: 50th Anniversary Edition

5.0 out of 5 stars Patrick Moore's Yearbook of Astronomy 2012, 11 Dec 2011
I always look forward to receiving the latest yearbook of Astronomy but the latest edition is even better. The 2012 book is a hardback edition to celebrate the series 50th anniversary. Appart from the usual monthly sky charts and sky notes there is an excellent selection of articles covering the last 50 years in astronomy. The articles are written by some very well known people in the world of astronomy and space travel e.g. David Harland, Ian Nicholson, Allan Chapman and many others. There are several colour photographs covering the last 50 years including the ever popular one taken from Appolo 8 looking back at the earth as it orbited the moon, the first spacecraft with humans on board to do so.

All in all, I would have no hesitation in recommending this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something For Everybody - Elvis Presley, 22 Aug 2011
This review is from: Something For Everybody (Audio CD)
I bought this CD as a birthday present for a friend of mine and she was delighted with it. The title is apt as Elvis does sing in a variety of styles on this album. The music was recorded in the early sixties at a time when, I feel, that Elvis did some of his best work. This Cd contains the tracks from the original LP with other songs that were recorded at the same time which makes the album excellent value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elvis On Tour, 9 July 2011
This review is from: Elvis on Tour [DVD] (DVD)
I had been looking forward to seeing Elvis On tour on DVD for a long time. I have a copy on VHS but the picture on the DVD is improved as you would expect although I did think the DVD was very slightly darker than the tape. I was disappointed that copyright problems meant that the DVD opened with Elvis singing "Don't Be Cruel" instead of "Johnny B Goode", the second disappointment was the complete lack of extras from the filming of Elvis On Tour and such outtakes do exist. Hopefully a second edition will be issued with some more material on it.

On the positive side, it was great to see Elvis singing on stage, he was in great form.
