Not the Killzone I remember, 4 Dec 2013
This is a well made game, of this there can be no doubt. It looks great and feels right. Finally the developers have given us a world we actually want to look at. The Helgan glum is still there but in small doses. The controls now feel light and responsive instead of the wieghty feel previous Killzone titles have had.
Unfortunately, despite these improvments, one can't help but feel Sony have missed the target. For large sections of the game it was hard to believe I was playing a first person shooter. One can't help but sense during gameplay, that the game doesn't know whats it wants to be. There are elements of Crysis and Deus Ex that fall vary short of the standard set by those games. The emphasise on stealth can be frustrating given the how bad the stealth elements are. The level where one is required to navigate in free fall are both pointless and annoying. The game also doesn't make it obvious what it expects you to do and forces you get killed 20 times before on figures out.
Challenging enemy AI
Stealth elements don't work and feel out of place
Doesn't feel like a FPS
