5.0 out of 5 stars Best bag in the world, 8 Oct. 2015
Best bag in the world! (Depending on your needs). This review is about the bigger 17 inch version. I lead an active life and travel a lot. In addition to all the usual things I needed a bag that fits a basketball and shoes or booties and a wetsuit for surf trips. This bag does this. The internal capacity is high. In general there are regular back packs and oversized backpacker back packs used for camping etc. The big oversized backpacks usually have an internal frame and are very bulky (even when empty). Smaller, regular bags are ok for going to school or work but lack the capacity to carry sports equipment or a lot of clothes.

This bag is in the middle. It is very well designed. It doesn’t have an internal frame but does have a molded fixed back support piece that is sturdy and soft. This essential for carrying heavy loads. It has a thin light handle which I use to hook on the back of toilet or changing room doors and a central carry handle. This handle is triple reinforced with a regular strap, a metal twine and a flexible black plastic ergonomic outer handle which makes carrying the bag very comfortable, especially on busy metro lines.

The shoulder straps are fully padded so there is no rub or soreness when the bag is filled to capacity. A slight criticism is that the straps are fairly close together at the top of the bag. After a year or so of intense use one strap broke (my fault rather than the manufacturers) but I got a street tailor to sew it back on, modifying it to be further away from the other strap.

Large backpacker style high capacity bags come with big waist straps, thankfully this midsized bag has simple and effective waist straps. Useful when full but when half full or lightly packed, they can be tied around the back and only the shoulder straps are needed. The air holes in the main chamber mean that when half full the bag seems smaller and is comfortable to use as a day bag. (I fill it for travel and then dump stuff at the hotel-using the bag for just what I need each day). The midsize also means that it can be taken as carryon luggage on planes.

Another cool thing is that the pocket where the laptop or tablet goes is fully padded and is separate from the main chamber. A lot of bags have the laptop section inside the central chamber. I hate this as if you need to slide out a computer or the print out air ticket confirmation you end up having to remove a bunch of stuff. This is not so with this bag as it is a separate pocket. As it's a deep pocket its also good for keeping money and passports in when on the move. Pick pockets usually go for the front and sides but it’s more of a challenge to get into the back pocket as its always close to your body.

As for front pockets, the horizontal one is deep and fine for a range of items, the diagonal one is awesome too, perfect for easy access coins or a pen. I hate being at customs digging around for a pen to fill the arrival form. I always keep one in the diagonal pocket.

The small side pockets are fine for socks or tissues etc. However, I did find that the elastic mesh net sides are a bit too small. If they were taller it would be better. It’s easy for a 500ml bottle of water to fall out if you bend or turn too quickly. I’m trying to get the street tailor to add mesh but it’s hard because they are limited but the size of the attached pocket.

Yeah so overall this bag is really solid. I love the size, comfort, practicality and range of pockets (useful for separating wet gym stuff and dry electronics). Oh and I forgot there is an audio lead that runs from the should straps to the inside of the bag, neat but hard to skip songs. Plus there is a middle section with loads of little storage pockets. There is space for an army knife, however, be careful at airports- I lost one expensive knife because I forgot it was in there and security took it- no blades on commercial aircraft!

So if you need a sturdy bag that can carry a lot that isn’t a massive backpacker style bag then this one rocks. It also looks kinda business-professional cos of the black and red shiny cross contrast. I bought 2 more of the same type and have them in storage- I don’t think it’s possible to design a better bag.

3.0 out of 5 stars better versions of the same model available, 4 Feb. 2014
I bought the same g510 model but with an i7 processor and 8gb of RAM. Sure its a little more expensive but well worth it and still in price range of a medium laptop

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent hardware average ergonomics, 4 Feb. 2014
I've had no problems with the plastic case as another reviewer, it seems pretty robust to me. However for a little bit extra you can get the same model with 8gb of RAM, its well worth it as it will extend the longevity of the machine,

5.0 out of 5 stars Hardware over ergonomics, 4 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For the price at 599.99 on 01/02/2014 this is a great deal. You will not find the fast high end 2.4 GHz Intel I7 processor with 8gb of RAM for less. I bought this computer to use for at least 5 years and when comparing products my main requirements were for a fast processor and a decent amount of RAM, the 8gb of RAM is in one slot meaning later on its possible to add another 8gb in the second slot for a maximum of 16gb. My advice is to avoid laptops with slow processors and under 8gb of RAM as they will become obsolete fairly quickly.

While the hardware is great the actual ergonomic design of the case is pretty basic. There is no keyboard back light and the plastic has a rather robust feel about it. The keys feel a bit squashed together as like most modern laptops the full num pad has been added on meaning that the arrow keys, delete key and home/end keys are in a slightly different place, it took me a few documents to fully adjust but its no big deal, the fact that it feels robust means it should last.

I use this mainly for regular web surfing, work stuff and photos/video which it handles smoothly. In terms of gaming the integrated intel 4600 graphics card still runs most games made in 2013 without issues, for example aliens colonial marines is seamless and a fairly recent title.

I give it 5 stars because for the price the hardware is a deal, I'd rather have an average looking laptop that's super fast and will last than a flashy brightly coloured case with a slow running machine inside. In case you are wondering about Lenovo its Chinese company that makes all sorts of electronics from phones to TVs. They acquired IBM's PC division which Is where they got their computer knowledge base from. Lenovo Is an up and coming company looking for brand recognition in western markets which is why I think the price point for this computer is so competitive.

As everything is made in China i decided to give Lenovo a chance, anyway with computers the brand on the case is almost irrelevant as what matters more are the core components, which in this model are all proven brands. For 600 quid with an 2.4 GHz I7 and 8gb RAM you can't go wrong.

The only thing that sucks is the built in webcam, on youtube an Indian guy does a review of a version of this model and calls the camera 'pathetic' in a strong Indian accent. Every time I use the camera that's what I think, 'pathetic' for conference calls I just use a high end separate camera. Cameras are so cheap so why they didn't ship with a better one I don't know. Still it's a decent machine and should be in use for years to come.

Oh and one feature useful for me personally is the retention of the VGA cable port. Many new laptops only have HDMI and no VGA, this one has both. I need to hook up my laptop to many different tvs and projectors, a lot of them are older models and only have VGA slots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyday, 4 July 2013
I live on a tropical island in the South China Sea and don't worry about modern day hassle. Me and the D O G go back way back to Year 8 when I was 'slanging' badly copied tapes of doggystyle to the younger kids because he swore. Being honest that's how most people started with gangsta rap. Anyhow a few degrees later (thanks student loans) as an older man who has grown up and followed a path of peace, love and unity in a warm place away from the stress of the city, its nice to see Snoop Lion evolve to the same spot. At first I thought it was a commercial sell out thing, then I saw the accompanying documentary with Daz and Snoop in Jamrock.

I'm not to sure I'm down with J'ah and all that ethopia noise but for sure, life in Babylon sucks, spirituality is the way and on and on it goes to the tick tock of the universal clock. Dunno if anyone buys music anymore but Snoop almost deserves you to because this album goes hard from start to finish. Its about redemption. knowledge and peace. So listen up and roll one up!

P.S Collie Budz rocks and so does Alberoise!

Ok so I got this many years ago and nobody buys music anymore but this is a funny album by some Chav from Yorkshire. Thankfully Devo doesn't really exist but like Ali G is based on real people. The 'boys on the beach' song is the best one.

This review is from: World Peacekeepers Humvee (Toy)
World Peace Keepers offer cheap realistic military action figures and vehicles. Sure the plastic is a bit fragile but for the price you can't go wrong. The Hummer as well as the other vehicles fit perfectly with most 1/18 figures so many people will be using them with their GIJOEs. If you want realism and value then PTE is the way to go. Look out for the A-10 and SU-27/J-11 which are sweet jets.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gay Comedy Romp For Under 12s, 16 May 2012
This movie tells the story of a small, weak homosexual American man with sadomasochistic tendencies (he likes getting hit and always gets back up for more) striving to break out of his passive role and win the affection of his true love, a strapping male soldier. I think Kylie Minogue features, desperately trying to seduce the Captain, with an accent and dress straight out of that dreadful Street Fighter 2 movie from the 1990s (although her uniform is the same but the color is WW2 era green instead on UN blue) its no wonder that the Captain rebuffs her saying he is waiting for the `right dance partner' obviously a reference to his true love, the strapping male soldier, take a hint Kylie.

The hero tries to join the army but after being rejected from numerous probing medical exams (but repeatedly going back for more of course) he meets a creepy gay doctor who's a borderline pedophile. The doctor checks out many dudes but settles on the little weak man. Alone in an army dorm room, the doctor gives the young Captain some `schnapps' (probably date rape drugs) and promises to fill him with his magic liquids. It's his first time so it will be painful, but that's what the Captains into, the liquid will make him big and strong, so he can then be a gay icon and win the affection of his true love.

After getting experience going city to city doing the rounds on a gay cabaret tour the Captain, dressed in a blue and white bondage costume with a star symbolizing the a/s hole and a big A for a/s, is sent to Europe to boost the troop's moral. Unfortunately, the straight soldiers boo him off the stage demanding `we want the women'. Feeling rejected the hero learns that his big strapping true love has been captured so he mounts a rescue mission.

No longer the passive receiver its time for the experienced Captain to show his stuff and be dominant, thanks to the magic steroids he can now fly a plane, use weapons, fight and pretty much do everything. The bad guy is the typical uber-gay Nazi with a black leather fetish and troops dressed in full gimp-gear. It's WW2 but they have lasers, tanks with useless big rubber wheels and stealth bombers. The stealth bombers are jet powered but still have propellers in an attempt to make them look authentic. Oh and it seems they also have CCTV, naturally it's in black and white because HD would just make it too unbelievable. Did I mention that the bad guy looks like the devil or Red Baron from Action Force anyhow this COBRA like character has a red skull face like a BDSM version of Jim Carrey's The Mask.

All goes well, despite charging enemy lines with a machine gun, Kylie still fails to impress the Captain, when will she take the hint? Instead the Captain is relieved to rescue his true love. Walking through 500 miles of enemy territory during the winter months takes only a few minutes and the Captain is allowed to form his own Gay Team. He chooses his true love who now seems to be his lover, a small Asian guy who can stereotypically kung fu himself into small tight spaces, a butch bloke with a huge moustache and a black guy. I could almost accept the Red Skull BDSM Master but seriously, a black guy. Not being racist here, there were black regiments in WW2, some did make significant contributions but most were assigned to logistical roles. Certainly due to racist sentiments at the time there was high segregation, that's just how it was. But this movie makes the past politically correct, if historically inaccurate. He's not only a hard hitting soldier but also speaks many languages as he graduated from Howard (that's the black uni so it makes huh viewers).

So this Gay Team or `Captain America and the Village People' as their cabaret name could be, sets out to beat the BDSM Masters. They opt for 20 round Thompson machine guns instead of lasers although the Captain has a shield made from rare-anium which will protect him from all STIs. My only question is where is the Native Indian with full head dress?

They win of course but Captain America looks set to crash into an ice berg (to save New York, it's a nice touch that the BDSM Red Skull Masters despite being German took the time to write the English names of the cities the bombs were designed to destroy). Desperate Kylie with mixing Australian/American/British accents gives it one last try and uses the radio to ask the Captain for a date. Figuring that he's going to die at any moment he reluctantly agrees, at least it will shut her up.

Luckily for him he crashes but survives and then waits 70 years to make sure he doesn't have to go on that date. He wakes up in the present, shouts in joy that he `had a date' but has missed it and proceeds to run into downtown New York half dressed looking to go wild in any modern gay bar. Then someone arrives - sadly it's not the native Indian from the Village People- Its Samuel L Jackson dressed in black leather with an eye patch, I'm guessing a homosexual pirate. The rest is left to your imagination.

Overall I did laugh a lot but would not recommend this film. Tommy Lee Jones must have badly needed a pay check, he understandably looks disinterested and I wouldn't be surprised if he shot his scenes in one day and went home feeling slightly ashamed but happy with the cash (we've all done things for money we regret).

My biggest problem with this movie was the message and this is one the kids should remember: According to this film, if you are a short skinny weak man you are worthless, you cannot help your country and nobody will like you. But if you do steroids, illegal drugs or whatever else it takes and become tall, big and strong and smart then everyone will like you and you will be a hero. If your buff, you always get enough.

Just when i thought i would never bother doing my NQT year to become a history teacher i stumbled upon this AQA course. I'm excited and i want to teach it. Looking for a school that has it on its curriculum right now. The one thing AQA does best is make history relevant and alive.
