3.0 out of 5 stars Please visit England before trying to describe it or it's people!, 21 Feb. 2016

I've really enjoyed all the Jet series but this one frustrates me as an Englishman! It really feels as though the author (or any of his editorial team) have never visited the country and his description of Birmingham & Manchester is sloppy, stereotypical and borderline offensive. One example; Manchester has TWO rather well known football teams (read soccer for Americans) and we win or lose by goals scored not points. Also Manchester is in the north of England and is not therefore "central England" unlike Birmingham which is. Talking of which, Maya - if you get a train from London to Birmingham it won't be populated by commuters AND old people as Senior Railcards aren't valid until after 09:30 by which time commuters are at work and International Station (or Birmingham International to be correct) is the stop off for the International Airport (clue's in the name) so you needed to stay on the train for a further four stops before disembarking at New Street Station before wandering over to what is presumably Aston. The book reminded me of similar mistakes in Clive Cussler's "Sacred Stone". Other than that...

I was in Holdfast Camp in 93, Germany before and after that and have ended up in Nuneaton so a curious parallel!! I will admit to crying with laughter at the stories and their accuracy. Thank you "Eddy" for helping me relive some fantastic times. I have recommended this brace of books to all my ex-squaddie mates!

As an apprentice at the superior Arborfield Apprentice College (Intake 77C) I visited our northern counterparts for the Triangular Games (along with the RE Chepstow Boys School). It was great to remember the posh and much newer facilities of Harrogate but even better to relate to the tales within this book. Quite literally crying with laughter at the Junior Company stories, it seems that nothing much had changed in the intervening 8 years. The camaraderie of ex-Apprentices is legendary regardless of location and this is an excellent book.
Cheers scaleys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a small garden pond!, 24 Feb. 2015

We wanted to have a small pond in the garden to attract frogs & wildlife but couldn't have a mains connected pump/fountain. Having looked at a variety of option at the Gardener's World Show we decided to go down the solar route. This fountain is perfect, sits nicely on its foam pad and gives exactly the right height of spray we wanted. I mounted the solar panel on an extending pole which we fitted in the nearby hedge thereby hiding the pole and allowing maximum sunlight as the panel now sits on top of the hedge.
In the summer the gentle tinkling of the water is very restful and I'm delighted to say that the local frog has discovered a new home.
Very happy with this purchase!

An amazing and emotional end to the trilogy. A lot racier than the previous two volumes presumably reflecting the "swinging" sixties but a fascinating story of the times.

I do wish that someone would check Clive's books for technical errors. Joe escapes in a truck..he decides not to mess with the distributors and speaks of petrol. Trucks use diesel and don't have distributors!
Other than that a great read!

Then put this DVD on, relax with a glass of Pimms and enjoy a restful hour or so of canals, boats and soothing commentary! If this is a trip you are planning then it is ideal and the canal version of following Google street maps!

3.0 out of 5 stars Summer read, 15 April 2013

As a tenant of a aristocrat and someone who comes into contact with his Land Agent this was an umusing insight into the work. It was a bit difficult to follow at times jumping from one estate to another and the main character is a little bit too perfect but in the same vein as Gervaise Phinn's school teacher perhaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome talent..and a really nice chap!, 6 April 2013
I first saw Adam at the Exeter Food and Drink Festival a year ago just as he was about to go on BBC's The Voice. Great show and got to say hello after. Fast forward a few months with an album in the bag and he pops into my school to entertain year 7&8 with a lunchtime gig..solid guy!
