Evocative, erudite and entertaining, 15 Dec 2013
I enjoyed this novel immensely. The characters are plausible, well defined and constructed and the narrative coheres in a satisfying way. The 1960's setting adds a welcome textural depth to the narrative which moves along at just the right pace, allowing appropriate time for reflection. It also manages to be, by turns, complex, erudite and witty, yet still entertaining - which is a good trick ! This author is one to watch - I look forward to more !
