A gripping story - the suspense keeps one turning the pages, wanting to know - a bit of horror, an intriguing whodunnit, and I never guessed - very clever, the contrast between the everyday mundane life of a married couple and the dark goings on ... then the gradual revelation of the psychological background of the main narrator - well I mustn't go on ... might give a clue! Just read it.

this is a bit of a curate's egg - there are some poems which leave me wondering what or why ... but then some are really moving and beautiful and expressive of a troubled mind with clear sight ... I particularly like "Father" ... a definite talent ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great first novel. Joe Mellen, 13 Feb. 2014

What an extraordinary novel. Betsy shows her mastery of the art of storytelling. I couldn't put the book down. I was gripped by the tale of this troubled girl who finds an apparent solution to her problems only to find herself caught up in a world of horror. Surely this is the beginning of a career which will gather fans like a snowball rolling down a hill.
