Series 11 of Heartbeat is the first full series without Claude Jeremiah Greengrass which is a real shame as he was my fave character, but it's not all bad news as we welcome Geoffrey Hughes as Vernon Scripps so the comedy is still there!

A few more changes is we welcome Ryan Early as PC Tom Nicholson in episode 4, but unfortunately lose him towards the end of the series in a very heartbreaking way. Jenny Latimer comes into the show and we also have a change at the station when we say bye-bye to Sgt Raymond Craddock and hello to Sgt Dennis Merton.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bye Bye Claude Jeremiah Greengrass :(, 8 Oct 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've always refused to watch this series & normally move from series 9 to 11 out of protest for the awful way Yorkshire Television treated my fave Claude Jeremiah Greengrass.

In real life Bill Maynard (who plays Greengrass) had a heart attack in the middle of filming series 10. While he did get better, not 100%, but better, Yorkshire Television (now called ITV Yorkshire) refused to have him back on the show due to high insurance costs for him.

They did offer to have a departing episode written for him, but he refused so one episode he was there and the next - Gone - To live with his sister on a cruise in the Caribbean.

That's the one thing I hate about YTV, the way they treated Greengrass at the end, but aside from that I still loved this series of Heartbeat. We say goodbye to Maggie Bolton & in the very last episode goodbye to Jackie Bradley too.

As for the "new blood" we welcome Dr Tricia Summerbee and Geoffrey Hughes as Vernon Scripps to take over from Claude Jeremiah Greengrass. While yes, It is sad we have no more Claude, Vernon takes over perfectly and the comedy is still there!

No matter what your age you will always find Paul & Barry funny. I'm 26 & laughed so much watching this. The main show is just under 1 hour & 20mins long with Paul, Barry, Mr No Slacking, Mr Get Out of it and the gang. There is also a little magic in the middle to brake it up a little. I myself found that a little boring, but as it's a live show Paul & Barry must take some rest so I understand why it's there.

You also get a good few extra's too including....
Arriving At Blackpool - 4mins sketch of the brothers finding the dressing room in there own special way.
Pre Show Warm up - 5mins sketch of the brothers warming up with song.
Chuckle Interview - 5mins where the audience ask questions for Paul & Barry.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs [DVD]

5.0 out of 5 stars Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 21 Sep 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
At age 26 I thought I better buy Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as I seemed to be one of a very few group of people who has never seen it before.

It's a nice film. I wouldn't say it was "amazing", but I really did enjoy it & will be watching it again. I own a number of Disney shorts from the 1930's too so it's really nice to see how Disney developed from 7min cartoon shorts to a film lasting 1 hour & 20mins.

As for the DVD set I bought, there is no extra's, but the disk does have full subtitles. It's pretty hard to work out what review is for what set due to Amazon moving all the reviews all together, but there you go, That's Amazon for you! lol
