5.0 out of 5 stars A Brutal-full Masterpiece, 9 Mar 2006
This review is from: The Scars Of Ages (Audio CD)
I stumbled across throught the eyes of the dead last year. i first bought 'Bloodlust' the full length album. From the First time i heard the intro i loved it. So i followed it up by purchasing the 'scars of ages'. I expected an older ep to not be quite as good as the album. But i was massivley wrong. This is one of the best cds i have ever bought primarily because it is Heavier Than whale sh*t. The fact it is only 15 minutes long may be off putting. However there is no better way of filling countless 15 minute gaps in your day, than listening to this.
The album is stupidly heavy. Supper heavy riffs, Crunching solos and massive beatdowns. The vocals are brutal death metal style deep growls mixed with screaming. The drummer is a machine, which is a great thing if like me you love plenty of really fast double bass. The whole sound is ubber impressive, It does not sound like a huge heavy mess. These dudes are massivley talented musicians.
This is definetly the best EP i have ever bought, The second song 'autumn tint of gold' is already one of my favourite all time songs.
So If you love your Metal. Fast, Brutal and Heavy as hell (and with no acoustic ballards or singing - thank god). This is definetly for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars old style korn, is the best korn!, 13 Jan 2003
This review is from: Korn (Audio CD)
i know this is really late to be reviewing a cd bought out in 1995 but i needed to say this. i know so many people who say they like korn. i say cool. but when i ask them the albums they have they almost nether own korn, korn. Its probaly one of the most influencial nu-metal cd of all time. its fantastic would be an under statment. with the amazing 7 stringed guitaring of munky and head on the start of Blind and then jonathans dark and evil (are you ready) the blood pumps straight through your veins and you just want to go crazy. im getting exited just reviewing it. And thats the opening minute of the cd. you then have clown which is just great, faget, daddy are also amazing. you then have a nervous breakdown from jon at the end. the whole cd creates a buzz of tension that makes you want to get up and mosh like a crazy mad man. if you dont own it bye it right this vry second on amazon the delivery is quick and just play it over and over and rip your self apart listening to it. i hope this has inspired and taught a lot of slacker korn fans a lesson. if you dont own this cd please do not say you are a fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars System keep impressing, 22 Nov 2002
This review is from: Steal This Album! (Audio CD)
I have been a big fan of system of a down since I heard there debut album a few years ago. With the great success of 'Toxicity' reaching number 1 in the us album charts and a worldwide growing fan base system of a down are now considered to be one of the biggest names in rock music. There new album 'steal this album' is as good if not better than anything they have done before. The songs date back to before they were signed up to the present day. With some songs from the 'Toxicity' recording sessions it is fate that this will be a hit album. The time span of the recording of these songs makes it an all round great album as it brings together all the different aspects of system of a downs song writing. The material is all new though. The album has been rushed into being released as some of the material was leaked onto the Internet earlier this year. This has not affected the album though and it is still very good. The name of the record was actually named 'steal this album' because they felt that their songs had been stolen of them when put onto the Internet. System of a down has not though provided a booklet with the album and there is no artwork except on the limited edition covers. The song lyrics and credits will only be available on there official website. The album has some great songs on it like 'chic n stu', which is about pizza pie. 'Bubbles' and 'f**k the system'. The whole record in fact is brilliant. While system of a down carry on creating brilliant music the world of rock is at benefit. The new album is a definite must have for anyone's CD collection.
