Price: £4.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Bolton., 28 April 2016

Wow, the second in the Lacey Flint police procedural really does deliver all that a good, fast paced, sometimes gory but scarily possible story should. Be warned, this book will keep you up into the early hours, it really is deserving of the title "page turner"
Highly recommended, I cannot wait for the next in the series.

Christopher Fowler can be relied upon to produce brilliant fiction, but here he turns his attention to his own life. This books is, by turns, sad, thought provoking and hilarious. Once started it is almost impossible to put down, highly recommended, it is the perfect rainy afternoon book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jack the Ripper copycat?, 20 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A very clever, if somewhat gory, tale of a police investigation into a serial killer, who may or may not be a modern day copy of the elusive Ripper.
Excellent writing, a gripping story line and full of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Highly recommended I am about to start the second book in the series. You will not be disappointed with this page turner, buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marvellous ., 6 April 2016

Christopher Fowler does it again. A wonderful book in the series about detectives Bryant and May of the peculiar crimes unit.
Marvellous stories, unlike any other detective fiction that you will have read. There are thirteen books so far, all may be read in any order, but I would suggest starting with number one. Fascinating facts and places about hidden London. If you are new to this series, you are in for a real treat. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old plot, new twist, 2 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The basic plot of this book has been used many times, but here is given a new twist, the heroine being both infuriating, yet likeable. This book is easy enough to get through, but has enough weight to keep you interested. I shall await the next book in the series, having enjoyed this one very much

5.0 out of 5 stars A cozy must read, 10 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The third in the Sanford third age club mystery series and every bit as good as the first two.
All the clues are there and the ending is fair, this adds up to an entertaining easy read. This series is recommended to anyone who enjoys a good yarn that is not too complex, but is enough to hold your attention.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real treat, 8 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A clever uncomplicated read, not as convoluted as say Agatha Christie, but with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. The perfect book to get into on a winters evening, or anytime for that matter. This is number two in a series of fourteen so far, I shall be starting on number three without delay, keen to meet the characters that are becoming friends, Jo, Sheila and Brenda.

Small Town Secrets (Some Very English Murders Book 2)
Price: £2.49

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect read, 3 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This series of books ,(this is number two), may not have the complex plotting of Agatha Christie, but in a similar way to the Miss Read country novels is deceptively straightforward. The book is a perfect size to be read in a few sessions, but has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. Highly recommended as a pleasant cozy crime, looking forward to reading the other four in the series.

I had this a while before I managed to get beyond the second chapter, but when I did..........the story drew me in just as it had with Kate Morton's other books. A real page turner, characters that you can believe in, and a gripping story with that twist at the end. A perfect curl up and forget everything else read. Highly recommended.
