Just what I needed to raise my table to the required height. Very strong and sturdy and hold lots of weight.

This review is from: East End Backpassages (Paperback)
A quirky, amusing, informative walk through London's East End in a way you've never been taken before - up the backpassages! Seriously, Alan Gilbey is a talented writer who can hold your attention to the last page - in fact, when you get to the last page, you're kind of sorry he's saying goodbye as you'd like to hear more. Whether you're a Londoner or not, this book gives all sorts of fun details on lots of interesting walks, complete with quirky little cartoon maps. I guarantee you'll learn something about the East End you didn't know before you started. A brilliant read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Unputdownable, 1 April 2011
I lived near Loch Ness for over 7 years but didn't know half of what I learned from this book. An absolutely fascinating account of all the "monster" sightings over the years, from someone who was involved in most of the research projects. And apart from the monster stuff, a history of the area as well. I don't usually read non-fiction but I couldn't put this book down.

A story with a very other-worldly feel - a bit bleak but you always want to know what's going to happen next. And I liked the ending (although I won't spoil it for anyone by giving it away).
