It finally all slots in to place!, 28 Dec. 2012
I've been looking in to getting my CCNA qualification for some time now and have read a few study guides how to do so, some good, others not so good. The CISCO official ones are very daunting, and probably could be used to start building a foundations of a house due to their thickness!
After a bit of a hunt online and asking some colleagues regarding any recommendations, I was pointed in the direction of this book. A bonus was there was a Kindle version available so I could read it any time rather than carrying a book around with me.
The book is split in to 2 halves, each half representing the relevant parts of the CCNA exam you can take. If you wish to go down the 2 exam option, you read the first half of the book, take exam 1 (CCENT) then read the second half and take exam 2 (ICND2), or if you want to just take the CCNA exam - study the whole book. The joy with this book is it is broken down in to 2 hour study chunks so you can pass your CCNA within the 60 days - if you want it. Each section is clear with a summary at the end of the book with example questions regarding the section you have learnt, plus a lab to reinforce practically what you have learnt.
Major recommendation - the section on subnetting. It explains very easily how to go through and subnet quickly and easily which is a must for the CCNA exam and finally it clicks in to place an easy method how to subnet.
Definitely worth a read if you are serious with getting your CCNA exam.
