1.0 out of 5 stars Cronic!, 12 Jan 2012
This review is from: Tunnel Rats [DVD] (DVD)
The cover of this DVD gives a clue as to what's contained in this film - stereotypical melodrama and factual inaccuracies... Blackhawk helicopters in 1968?! The film starts with the typical melodramatic cliches of Vietnam; arguing, fighting, whining, crying then moves on, incredibly slowly and with no apparent direction or plot development, to a bunch of amateur re-enactors wandering about the jungle like they're strolling around the War and Peace show. Their skills and drills are as appalling as their acting; firing an M60 one handed like Arnie?! Come off it, it takes 2 hands to lift the thing for a start! This film goes from bad to worse and I got bored and very annoyed with it. The ham acting was lame and the action scenes were straight out of a comic book. All it needed was someone shouting, "Aieeeee, death to the yankee imperialists!" and the whole awful piece of junk would have been complete.

Complete waste of time and money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bloody awful!, 1 Jan 2012
This review is from: Ma Mere [2005] [DVD] (DVD)
This was the most dull, boring and monotonous film I've ever had the misfortune to waste 2hrs of my life on! For those who can speak French, add the letter D before the last e in the title and that about sums it up. It was so bad I couldn't even give it away!

1.0 out of 5 stars Bite the hand that feeds..., 3 Aug 2008
I thought that this woman would have been grateful to the country that eventually took her in when her own country signally failed to protect her. However, she launches into a political attack on this country, it's people and it's system. If she "hates" us so much one wonders why she came here in the first place? (I find her explanation of how she did not know she was coming here until she was in the air somewhat difficult to believe). Despite all the horrors she witnessed in the Sudan and her endeavours to become a doctor, she never once treats her own country to the contempt she reserves for us nor has she used her medical training since she got here. All this book does is show the author as selfish, ungrateful and hypocritical.
