5.0 out of 5 stars I feel it is better accomodated than the white version it replaced, 19 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I needed to wireless-charge enable an iPhone 5C for which there does not seem to be any charging cases available (at time of writing).

I purchased this to replace a white generic version that seems to be widely available, but caused the phone to continuously buzz\beep as it approached full charge, by the charge function continuously starting and stopping.

This keedox branded unit does not cause the phone to display such unruly behaviour. It charges well, and the phone simply throws up an 'unsupported accessory' message when fully charged (a standard occurrence for non-Apple accessories).

It is very thin, but does have surface mount type electronics toward the ribbon cable that can be a problem for a hardcase. Even so, I feel it is better accomodated than the white version it replaced.

Overall, it does the job I need it to do, and unsupported accessory aside, does it well - so five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very nice timepiece., 17 Aug. 2014

This item is not cheap, but I don't begrudge the price paid.
A very nice timepiece, feels more like a plate than a clock, and have only had need to adjust the time when the clocks go forward or back.
Five stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not 100% successful..., 17 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've bought into the wireless charging idea for my iPhone, and for the 5S have aquired a charging case which does the job well. However, the wife has a 5C, and no manufacturer seems to produce a charging case for that model.
Hence, I purchased this device that could (hopefully) sit underneath her existing case.

Initially, this unit seemed to do the job perfectly, although whilst the charging coil iteslf sits happily under the case, the electronics between the coil and the ribbon connector have a thicker profile and cause the case to bulge somewhat.

One week on, and the bulge has cause the hardcase to crack, indicating the need for a gel or silicon based case for this device to be used successfully.
Critically, however, once the phone has reached near full charge, the charge cycle keeps coming on then going off, causing the phone to continuously beep (or buzz if on silent) which is very annoying if you've put the phone on charge before retiring for the night. This happens on two different types of charging base.

I have now removed this unit and replaced it with the Keedox branded version (black) which seems to be much more stable and has not exhibited the same problem - the phone simply throws an 'unsupported accessory' message up at 100% charge and stops charging, which is pretty much what the charging case for the 5S does, and seems to be the norm for non-apple charging accessories.

Update just after a month's use...
I'm sorry to have to report that my enthusiasm for this product has all but gone away.

Whilst I remain impressed with outward build quality and overall feel of the product, that isn't much good if it doesn't work properly.
One week past the 30-day return window, and one of the five outputs has stopped working. luckily, Amazon have stepped up to the plate and refunded me in full, but a product that doesn't work for longer that 5 weeks deserves only one star, so I am revising my rating accordingly.

--- Original review ---
A device that does the same job as the more well-known Anker product, but which can cost a lot less.

Very well built, does not feel cheap, and so far has performed flawlessly.
Came with a quality mains lead fitted with a standard UK plug, and is silent in operation.
About the size of a packet of 20 cigarettes, and mine runs two wireless charging pads in addition to charging iPads, a Nexus 10, and a Kindle effortlessly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does a great job of charging my 5S, 11 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Does a great job of charging my 5S, although when fully charged the phone **occasionally** throws up an 'unsupported accessory' message and charging stops, but as the message only appears when charge reaches 100%, this is not a problem for me. Removing the phone from the charger momentarily will restart the charge process.

Very thin, fits well, and doesn't add unnecessary bulk to the phone. The headphone socket at the base will only accomodate plugs of similar diameter to the standard issue Apple headphones, so if you have a larger plug, or right-angle plug for example, they would not be suitable for use with this case fitted.

Charging current is claimed to be 600mA, and in practice I notice no difference in charging speed between this and a regular Lightning cable from a standard USB charger.
Of course your chosen charging pad will play an important role in charging speed.

Should you find yourself away from a charging pad and wish to charge without removing the case, you will need a micro-usb lead, not a standard iPhone 5 Lightning lead, but I'm afraid that my PC doesn't recognize the phone using the Micro-USB, and so is only useful for charging, not syncing with iTunes or downloading photos to a computer.

The aperture for the camera lens and LED flash is uniform and not teardrop shaped, but the white plastic wall of the aperture causes the light from the LED to relect into the lens resulting in a fogging effect when taking photographs using flash, or shooting video with the light on. I also have this case in Black, where no such effect is noticeable.

Overall, as a charging case it works well, but if you take a lot of pics, stick with a black one.
In white I can only award an 'it's OK' 3 stars because it impairs the functionality of the phone when using the camera with flash.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily fixed for me with the use of a sticky ..., 8 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Purchased this item for the princely sum of £5.99 (they can be seen for anything up to £20 dependent upon seller/outlet), and it was fulfilled by Amazon and hence was received on a one-day delivery for free via Prime.

Initially purchased in Black, I was sufficiently impressed to aquire a second unit in White so I can keep one at home, and one at work.

The units are supplied with a Micro-USB lead for connection to an existing USB charger or computer. Two LED's are present on the front, that give indication of both power and charging. The downside here is that when (for example) an iPhone is placed on the device, the LED's are obscured by the overhang of the phone. If you're not too OCD and it's important to you to see the LEDs, you can place the phone on the unit horizontally instead.

The unit is very lightweight, and the circular grip pad grips sufficiently well (it needs to because of the angle) that when you lift the phone off, the unit lifts off the table also. Easily fixed for me with the use of a sticky foam pad.

I guess charge time will largely depend on the receiver fitted to your device, but I notice no difference in charging my iPhone 5S between this (paired with an i100 receiver case) and the normal Lightning cable when powered from a USB port.

One star knocked off for being so light but put back on account of this unit costing so little, so five stars from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silence is Golden..., 15 Mar. 2014

If you subscribe to your phone provider's caller ID service, then you more than likely wish to choose whether or not to answer your phone, dependant upon who it is that is calling you.
And if you are reading this review, chances are your phone keeps ringing from uninvited callers when you have no intention of answering.

So the question you probably want answered is, "Does this contraption stop the darn phone from ringing persistently until that unwanted caller gives up and hangs up ?"

The answer, quite simply, is yes. (as long as you do subscribe to a caller ID service, that is).

This box of tricks is a generic chinese unit, that is available with a number of different 'brands' stamped on it.
Mine was 'Pro-call' branded, but the unit is also available with other names printed on it, such as T-Blox or Call saint. It does not require batteries, and is not to be confused with units of identical appearance that are available dirt cheap on a certain auction site which simply do caller ID and will not block calls.

The unit sits between your phone line and telephone, but if your telephone does not have an RJ11 style plug (a small transparent plastic plug with two contacts) for the line cord to plug into, then you're out of luck and will be unable to connect it. As a general rule, if you can unplug the cord that goes to your wall socket from the phone itself as well as the wall, you'll be OK.

It works by reading the Caller ID information, comparing it to a list of numbers held within it's blacklist memory, and if the number is blacklisted it simply answers the call and immediately hangs up again, without ever ringing your phone. The caller ID info is still passed to your phone however, so if you are using a cordless DECT phone for example, you'll know there has been a call without having to check the unit.
No clall blocker actually stops callers from calling you, they just stop your phone from ringing, and the caller will hear ringing tone at their end until the unit has answered and hung up.

You can block numbers by pressing the Blacklist button as they are displayed as an incoming call, or you can review a list of received calls and block them in the same way.

Blocking area codes is a bit more complicated, and requires you to press a few buttons on both your telephone, and the unit, but you can block say all numbers beginning 0845 which will still let 0800 numbers through, or all numbers beginning with 08 which will block everything starting 08.
You cannot add exceptions however, so if your bank calls you on an 0845 number for example, it wouldn't be a good idea to block all 08 numbers.
Blocking outgoing numbers is also possible, and you can for example block all '07' (mobile numbers) from being dialled which might be very useful.

The unit can also block all withheld and 'out of Area' calls if programmed to do so, but this is a single function that blocks all calls without a calling number, so will block withelds as well as as possible friends calling from abroad.

All in all, a great little unit, which does the job I bought it for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says..., 22 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
One would think that there is not much to say as regards a sync\charge cable in that it should either work, or not. However, this is not exactly true as I found out recently.

Having been caught short with low battery whilst out working, I borrowed a charge cable that had been acquired from a well known online auction site. Whilst it did charge my iPhone 5S, it flagged up a warning upon connection that the accessory was not approved and may not work correctly.
To drive that fact home, the phone would make the connection sound every few seconds the entire time that the cable was connected.

This cable, under review, I purchase from seller Gadgets4U for the princely sum of £2.69 inclusive of (free) 1st class post. Although not sent same day as they claim, it arrived within 3 days.

The cable does everything that the £15 Apple original does. It's a little less flexible perhaps, than the Apple, but not so much as to be a problem. No 'not approved' messages, or annoying bleeping whilst charging. Syncs are fine with iTunes 11.1.3.8 and iOS 7.0.3

The in-car adapter is rated at 1A and works OK, but does get a bit hot in use. A red LED illuminates when inserted to the car lighter/power socket and remains lit throughout.

For the money, no complaints. Worth it IMO for the cable alone, which is all I really needed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant (if you've already got a Vac, that is !), 12 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've had my eye on one of these for a while, but could not justify the price when we already have a perfectly serviceable mains powered Vac, so when this unit came up on Lighting Deals, I took the plunge.

First off, this is a very capable cleaner, but in my opinion and in our household at least, cannot fully replace a 'proper' mains powered unit.
The main reason for this, is the lack of any form of hose or tools, in order to clean inbetween obstacles that cannot be moved or where the cleaner is too big to fit such as in tight corners.
I also find that we need to use our trusty VAX Pet Air to clean the filters on the Gtech, as the recommended 'tapping' just doesn't cut it when it comes to unclogging them after a few passes across the carpet.
The Gtech is noisier than I expected, much more so than the VAX, but we've had far noiser machines in the past.

Enough then, of the shortcomings, and onto the good stuff.

We have a predominently white-haired dog that sheds continuoulsly to varying degrees throught the year, and necessitates that our brown carpet be vacuumed numerous times per day during peak shedding periods.
This is where the Gtech comes into it's own. It matters not how well it does or doesn't suck, because the end result is that the dust, dirt and dog hair gets transported from the carpet to the canister quickly and efficiently. In fact just as well as, if not better than, the mains-powered VAX.
It's great to just grab the machine and quickly go around the room without having to plug in and negotiate around a trailing cord, then pop it away in a corner or coat cupboard when done without retracting or winding.
Plus when you consider that each time the VAX comes out it sends our electricity meter spinning by sucking 1800W from the National Grid, there has got to be some major saving as the Gtech sips a mere 100W from it's Lithium Ion battery pack. (For the technologically minded, you can even plug the unit into PC or laptop via USB, and it will tell you how much you've saved, and how many calories you have burnt by vacuuming etc).

In summary then, a great product if you've got another Vac (with perhaps a crevace tool) hiding away in the back of a cupboard.
Do I think that materially, it's worth 200 quid ? Probably not as there are better all-round machines available for far less money, and I mself paid a lot less whilst on a deal. But if you're the type of person that doesn't mind paying a few bob more for a loaf of bread at the corner shop to save you having to go to the supermarket, then this gem will pay you back with convenience many times over !

If you need a case to stop the nice coloured back of your 5C getting scratched, then this will do the job.
Unfortunately, the fit wasn't perfect at the top end of the phone, with the 'silent mode' switch being partially covered, and the camera cutout not sitting centrally over the lens, barely avoiding obscuring it.

Aesthetically it didn't score too well either, because the soft silicon-style composition of the case contacted the phone's back in some places and not others, making it look like there was water trapped between the case and the phone.

Purchased for the wife, but I'm afraid this one has instead been consigned to the back of the drawer.
