This review is from: The Glory of Christ (Paperback)
Five hundred pages that are worth their weight in gold! Lewis has produced a logically laid out explanation of the Biblical truth concerning Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. It is easy reading, not because it is light and 'fluffy' - exactly the opposite! The book is thoroughly glorifying to the Lord Jesus, but written in a way that thrills the heart and soul of the reader without the dry dust of a theolgian's cerebral cobwebs

It is packed full of quotable quotes that seem to flow incessantly from his pen. For example, when speaking of his own experience with Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, he says that "Jesus ... is not dwarfed ny any crisis, not regulated by any gain, not lessened by any intimacy; always with us, always before us, always leading us on". Also, when writing of the glory of the resurrection he says; "If for a Saviour we only have a ghost, then for a heaven we shall only have a dream".

I found great delight in reading his final chapters dealing with Eschatology even though I am Dispensationalist in my outlook. That did not rob me of the pleasure of enjoying his lucid writing and illuminating prose as he advances an interpretation with which I fundamentally disagree; it is written in such winsome terms that it is still excellent reading that provokes inner worship in the soul of the reader. When dealing with the subject of the person and work of the Lord Jesus, this is the most frequently lifted book in my library of reference material.
