5.0 out of 5 stars Great horror film for all the family, 2 Jun 2010

This review is from: The Mist [DVD] (DVD)
This is a great horror film made on a modest budget that is very well written and acted and with excellent special effects. The gore was kept to a level that still made the story very scary but could be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

The fact that there were so many different types of monsters meant that neither the characters nor the audience knew what to expect next or how to combat them.

It was also very realistic in its portrayal of how people form themselves into rival groups and can resort to religious fanaticism during a crisis.

But what really elevates the film to a higher level is the shocking and totally unexpected ending.

One of my very favourite films.
