This was the first Neil Young album I have bought because I was intrigued by the man but had never listened to his music and it was cheap so I thought if I didn't like it I hadn't wasted to much money, to me the outstanding track was Don't Let It Bring You Down, the first time I heard it I was gobsmacked I had to listen to it again and again, the first 4 lines are a masterpiece in writing,OLD MAN LYING BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD,
WITH THE LORRIES ROLLING BY,BLUE MOON SINKING FROM THE WEIGHT OF THE LOAD,AND THE BUILDINGS SCRAPE THE SKY.
The man is telling a story like a poet,Southern Man is superb as is the title track After The Gold Rush, one of the best decisions I made when I purchased this album.
