5.0 out of 5 stars My grandson loves this one too, 17 Dec. 2010
This review is from: I Can Write: At Home (Paperback)
The wipe clean and the word recognising exercises like the counting book is very educational and fun to learn, my grandson is only 3yrs and he can recognise some words because of this little book...its bright colours and every day items draws the child's interest, I would recommend it for those early stages of reading and writing..I Can Count

4.0 out of 5 stars An Inspiring Collection indeed, 27 Nov. 2010
This review is from: How I Cook (Hardcover)
An Inspiring Collection as it states on the pastel coloured cover with an illustration of antique silver spoons.Inspiring with recipes that outlay the setting and lighting of a room the decor and colour of the table..the wine used and the combinations of food herbs and tastes..emotions and poeple in relation to foods are included, Skye has a unique way of combining all these elements for a perfect meal...with simplicity and creativenes in her recipes. Al Fresco (Eating outside) too is included .."Under blue skies, leafy trees and dappled sunlight..must be one of the great joys of summer."
Texture is spoken of in her foods contents, "I love the silky texture of a baked rich creamy custard."
This lovely little cookery book would make a superb gift for a novice or an experienced cook...the delights of trying these wonderful recipes would be a wonderful culinery experience.

Animals Around the World Lift the Flap
Animals Around the World Lift the Flap
by Anthony Lewis
Edition: Board book

4.0 out of 5 stars Educational for little ones, 21 May 2010
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A great little book with interesting pictures that lift up giving information underneath the flap about the specific animal..and their location in the different countries of the world from south America to the artic regions..from lions ,tigers, bears, birds, spiders and snakes, plenty of info for the inquisitive young mind a great biology and geography lesson for 3 to 7 yr olds...for reading to as well as reading from the child. I like the colours and the simplified information...my grandson loves it...the only down side are the words need to be a little bit bigger and the card thicker and more seared for lifting, otherwise a very good buy and educational tool..

5.0 out of 5 stars A classic bedtime story?, 18 Dec. 2009
This review is from: Starlight Sailor (Hardcover)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Maybe this new bedtime story written in poetic style by James Mayhew will become a classic of the future with its dreamy blue illustrations by Jackie Morris..ironically the little boy looks like my grandson and the mother like his mother, because of this he will really relate to the book with a sense of realism within the story..its a proper little boy's bedtime story and there is a dragon..lots of twinkly stars and a little paper boat that becomes a real boat...he meets some friends and they have great adventures with castles, tall ships, unicorns, mermaids and maidens, including the dragon..these are beautifully illustrated. I will look forward to reading this book to my grandson at xmas as I am sure he will love it, especially the little dog, not unlike his own, and I am sure he will enjoy making the boat with his dad from the instructions at the end of the book

5.0 out of 5 stars A Page Turner, 28 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Of Bees and Mist (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I am at the moment in the process of reading this book and it certainly is a page turner, every page has something different, you don't know what to expect or wether something is real or not...its the best thing since Harry Potter a magical girl rather than a wizard, she has cruel guardians as such, but not written necessarily for children as there are some naughty grown up bits in the content of the story and dialogue..its intrigues one to say the least and I love its twists and turns..I will write a more expanded review after I have read it...its magical and pure fantasy, a very colourful well written book

4.0 out of 5 stars I love this trendy hair straightener, 21 Sept. 2009
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I love the slim design in black & gold, very trendy....The best feature on this hair straightener is its 10 heat settings, this is wonderful, as my previous hair straightener was only used once as it singed my hair, there was only 2 settings and they were far too hot...Being fine, different settings are a must for my hair...after my first try with this particular product I was very pleased with the results, my fine blonde hair looked like silk, it got rid of that unwanted frizz and looked so "super straight" I most certainly will be using it again....there is included a heat mat and salon clips, very handy...very good value with a 5 yr guarantee
On the downside the curls are more waves and the info on how to do the curls was not very clear, it took me some time to master it...only to be waves rather than curls...of which looked rather nice...I think it should be renamed Straight and Wave. For great curls the curling wand by Babyliss is excellent, both products look good together...Babyliss Pro 32-19mm Porcelain Conical Wand

Max Factor Second Skin Foundation - Natural
Max Factor Second Skin Foundation - Natural
Offered by Deluxe Beauty
Price: £5.90

4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth Finish, 21 Sept. 2009
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I chose natural (070) as with my fairish mature skin its not too dark or too light...after cleansing and toning I applied foundation over a light moisturizer,(this helps the foundation to glide on easier), with upward movements and with just a small amount on fingertips I was able to cover my complexion and it was flawless, smooth and natural looking..also no shine which is a relief as my nose and forehead tend to shine...and it lasted almost all day no need to reapply..yes it was like a second skin and with a smooth undetectable finish as described and I love it....looked lovely with my Max factor mascaraMax Factor False Lash Effect Mascara - Black/Brown

4.0 out of 5 stars A Time hopping story, 21 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Days of Grace (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This novel had me bouncing from one time to another at first its hard to get to grips with..Nora a poor girl .from the Eastend of London about 12 years old whilst the country is on the brink of war and how she meets Grace to the days when she is seemingly dying of an undiagnosed illness...a young woman she has taken to and helps her bring her child into the world is part of the skipping and time shifting...there are personal things that dwell within a young girl's mind during those pre war years on the onset and the friend she makes during the mass child evacuation during the war years in the Kentish countryside, Grace and her family...her lonely mother and estranged father have it all...in contrast to her own mother who is a widow struggling on her own, this new life draws her away from the things she knew and enjoyed the company of Grace and the luxuries that surrounded her there....she became an avid student whilst Grace liked to have fun and was out of control in alot of her ways..despite this there is a sisterly bond between them a closeness thats beyond mere friendship..the story keeps jolting from one time to another on alternative chapters and that can be quite difficult to follow and I suppose cleverly written...you are quite a way into the story before you find out what happened to Grace, there are twists and turns in the plot..leading to a surprising climax..it is a well written story, worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant live concert, 23 July 2009
The Atmosphere was truly phenomenal when The Moody Blues performed at this live concert, the stage was set within the beautiful Red Rocks in the USA, the Orchestra and the deep bass together with Ray's flute and Justin Hayward's voice within the natural surroundings was a perfection in acoustics..all their hits to date at the time where performed there including Nights In White Satin...the sounds from that song alone that night still ring in my ears after listening to this DVD it was truly a wonderful journey of musicality.Days Of Future Passed (SACD/Deluxe Edition)
