4.0 out of 5 stars The Wind Is Not a River, 6 Mar. 2015

ThecWind Is not a river.

A strange title for a story set in the far northwest of America in the closing days of the war where the Japanese forces have attacked along high group of islands high along the pacific coast.
An interesting book as it is a part of history I have not heard come across before.
A war reporter had been landed there to come to cover the fighting in the war but he was too late.
Have damage his ankle on landing he is in a sorry state.
A local boy found him when he fled from his village with his dog when the Japanese arrived.
Hiding out together made a good story.
The secondary character was the reporter wife. She found out from his newspaper where he had gone and she then joined a troop of entertainers to go north as she before her marriage she has been a singer on the hope to find what had happened to him when he had not returned.

This stainless steel product is of very smart appearance and looks very nice in it's place in my kitchen. The picture does not do it justice. It is easy to use with simple easy to understand controls. The defrost facility is ideal for defrosting bread that has been kept in the freezer. The choice of seven settings allows me to get my toast to the exact degree of brownness that I like. This toaster would make an ideal wedding present as the shiny silver colour would stand out amongst the other presents.

When our two Roman hero's Macro and Cato arrive back to London from Rome they found that they were going to the far west that we would know as Wales they found the situation there was far below the usual standard of a roman fortress. The senturion was drunk most of the time and the troops following the same example.
To get these new his second in command who tried to put things in order the superior sent them to a fortress father up to the west to take charge their and get them out of his hair.
A group calling themselves the Crows were terrorising every one in the area including their own people. This begins another great book by Simon Scarrow. . . . .

I was quite interested in this book when I saw it's cover as it reminded me of my trip to Myanmar some years ago. But this story is not one really for me with a lead female is neurotic and hears voices in her head.
A part from that it is a family story when she and her family decide to leave America and go back to her brother in Rangoon.
There way of life is different there but saying more will spoil this story.
It is a pity that the cover picture is red and black as the wonderful temple in Rangoon is something worth seeing. It is covered by gold leaf paid for by the devout Buddhist. people.

I found 'Biggles' books at about the age of ten and over the years I have collected everyone of them. In this one he is asked by a French detective asks him to look into a situation in Algiers as all of his operatives would be known by the subject trouble makers. Something was going. Planes and their pilots were vanishing.
