Alpen Porridge Raisin/ Hazelnut/ Almond 40 g (Pack of 4)
Alpen Porridge Raisin/ Hazelnut/ Almond 40 g (Pack of 4)

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice porridge but too sweet, 13 Feb 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This Alpen porridge is lovely for breakfast. A nice creamy think texture with good mixture of nuts. However it contains a bit too much sugar which is a minor drawback if you are watching your weight. I would not have one of these every morning for this reason.

AmazonBasics 67-Inch Monopod
AmazonBasics 67-Inch Monopod
Price: £16.99

4.0 out of 5 stars A handy addition to your photography kit, 13 Feb 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a nice robust monopod that is light and easy to set up and to carry around. At 67 inches it can be extended to near eye level for most people. It has a good foam handgrip and a carry bag with a strap.
This item obviously doesnt do the job of a tripod but does provide steadiness for shots taken at slow shutter speed. I have put it to use for filming seminars with my digital camera while seated, and it is great for this purpose. I can hold the monopod with my arms relaxed on my lap and get steady recorded movies without getting tired now.
I would think it is good value if the price is under £20.

5.0 out of 5 stars As bright as halogen bulbs, using a tenth of the power, 16 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I have installed this in my WC in place of a halogen bulb. That was 50w and this 5w bulb is as bright with a genuinely warm white light. The added benefit is that they don't heat up anywhere near as much as a standard bulb, so cleaning is easy.

I will definitely be getting some more of these for other rooms. Here's to lower electricity bills.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for breakfast, 16 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This Alpen porridge was really nice. I enjoyed this free item so much that I went and bought some more afterwards. This is supposed to be mixed with hot water, which was nice but I also tried it with hot milk to give it a creamier effect and that was even yummier.
Big thumbs up for this item.

Zyliss Herb Tool Cutter
Zyliss Herb Tool Cutter
Price: £11.86

1.0 out of 5 stars Effective cutter but let down by very poor safety, 20 Sep 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This product is designed to chop up your herbs. It does this very well as the blades are good quality but the tool has to be cleaned and that's when you realize that it is a rather dangerous product to be handling. When you clean it you have to open it and expose yourself to the sharp blades which look like they could cut your fingers off. The blade cover is a very flimsy piece of plastic and not fit for purpose.
I am binning mine as it is just not safe enough for regular use. I advise steering well clear of this product and sticking to using a knife or whatever you already have.

Spearmark Small Working Lunch Bag, Red
Spearmark Small Working Lunch Bag, Red
Price: £5.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite big enough, 20 Sep 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a nice looking bag when you first see it but it is not really big enough to accommodate what I would call lunch - a good sized sandwich, some fruit and a small water/juice bottle.
There is also no protection in case you drop it or if pressed against something inside your bag.
On the positive side it is made of nice material and would probably be more suited to having some chocolate bars or small drinks cartons inside it, which need to be kept cool on excursions. That said, it won't keep your items cool for long - maybe a couple of hours at most.
I wouldn't recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A solid 5th season - at times reaching major highs, 25 Aug 2013
The Clone Wars saga rampages on with season 5, which I found to be at times absolutely brilliant but let down by a weak and long story-arc in the middle - hence 4 stars and not 5. The season marks key developments in characters and storyline that set the scene for what should be an exciting end to the franchise next year. As in previous seasons, there are multiple story-arcs involving our usual heroes and villains. The action and detail in animation is again top drawer.

This season has 20 episodes as follows:
1. Revival
Darth Maul and Savage Opress attempt to take over the pirate stronghold of Hondo, but Jedi masters Obi-Wan and Adi Gallia arrive to intervene. A solid opening episode for the season, with (**SPOILER**)at least one significant character killed in the fight. This is something the writers have generally avoided with lightsabre duels, but it gave the episode a sense of realism and sadness that you'd expect considering the magnitude of the conflict and the toll it takes on the Jedi order.

2. A War On Two Fronts
3. Frontrunners
4. The Soft War
5. Tipping Points
Ep2-5 cover the battle for control of the Planet Onderon, with Ahsoka showing great maturity in playing a key role to support the planet's freedom fighters. A real mix of politics, subversive/guerrilla warfare and all-out action, though probably too long at 4 episodes - 3 should have covered it.

6. The Gathering
7. A Test of Strength
8. Bound for Rescue
9. A Necessary Bond
Episodes 6-9 also involve Ahsoka, who is now helping Jedi younglings to build their lightsabres. The novices are attacked by Hondo and then later by General Grevious, forcing the younglings to show bravery and skills much sooner than they ever imagined.

10. Secret Weapons
11. A Sunny Day in the Void
12. Missing in Action
13. Point of No Return
Episodes 10-13 follows R2-D2 and a team of droids on a secret mission. This was definitely the weak part of the season. It was a boring story-arc with a collection of quite dull droids (R2 aside) on an even duller planet - how this concept got so much time at 4 episodes is honestly beyond comprehension. A major oversight by editors/producers in my opinion.

14. Eminence
15. Shades of Reason
16. The Lawless
Darth Maul and Savage Opress are rescued by the Mandalorian Death Watch, who then form an alliance to take over the planet Mandalore. These episodes for me were probably the best I have seen in all of seasons 1-5. Climactic lightsabre duels are aplenty with Pre Vizsla battling Darth Maul and then the topper - Darth Sidious vs. Maul and Opress. For me, this is what Star Wars is all about. It may sound unbelievable for a CGI/Lucas production, but there is also great direction with good display of emotions (Obi-Wan and Satine), drama and memorable music throughout. Adding another episode or two to this story-arc, while shortening others, would have been the way to go.

17. Sabotage
18. The Jedi Who Knew Too Much
19. To Catch a Jedi
20. The Wrong Jedi
The last few episodes again focus on Ahsoka, where she is implicated in a bombing of the Jedi Temple. She escapes and seeks out the real perpetrator resulting in her reconsidering her future in the Jedi Order. Without doubt Ahsoka was the outstanding character in the season, making you wonder how the prequels could have been so much better if her character had been thought of sooner.

The franchise is nearing it's close with probably one more season to go. It has definitely been stretched out to the max, but Star Wars is Star Wars and so I will keep watching.

Price: £10.39

4.0 out of 5 stars very good dictionary, 22 Aug 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a very good dictionary for those who are studying French or if you speak it as a second language. Well laid out and a good size, but probably too bulky to have in your bag for school or out on your travels. There is also a good section on phrases. C'est magnifique!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent small dictionary, 19 July 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is great little dictionary that's perfect to have if you are at school or college.

It is small so there are some words missing for sure, but I couldnt think of one yet. However it probably covers 99% of words that you would really need to know or use and for these the definitions are clear and concise.

It costs under £5 which is great value for money. I highly recommend it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the price, 28 Jun 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
As a set of scales this is a nice product. The product is made from high quality materials with a glass surface that is really nice to stand on. However, it gets a bit complicated when trying to do things online. The website needs to be improved so it is more user friendly. I found the whole process a bit of a chore.
The other negative point is that you don't get a cable with a UK plug so unless you have an adaptor you can't use the internet function.
I wouldn't buy this product or recommend it even if it was a quarter of the price.
