Deadly Judgment (Judgment Series Book 2)
Deadly Judgment (Judgment Series Book 2)
Price: £2.44

5.0 out of 5 stars Action packed!, 7 Nov 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Just when you think the corrupt government officials couldn't stoop any lower than they did in book 1, they introduce not one but two deadly viruses into the vampire community to further degrade and intimidate them. It's left to the Resistance to try to save their community from extermination. Definite shades of WWII Nazi treatment of the Jews in the constant struggle of the vampires against the human authorities. Plenty of action with characters old and new, never a dull moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great short read, 10 Oct 2014
This review is from: Texas Devil (Kindle Edition)
As a fan of Nickie Asher I was offered a free copy of the book to read and review. Although this is only a short story there was plenty packed into it. Very believable characters, including a psycho stalker ex-husband and a raging bull or two! Very poetic twist at the end rounds the story off nicely.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really liked the way the mystery builds up, 1 Oct 2014
Having read most of Marissa Farrar's books I was lucky enough to get an advance copy to read and review. I initially didn't realise who Elizabeth was but soon made the connection with the Serenity series. Grown up and making a bid for independence at college, something very mysterious lies in store for Elizabeth. I really liked the way the mystery builds up, with the introduction of some strange locals, including an all-American sporty good guy as well as a very dishy 'bad' boy. In typical Marissa style plenty of twists are included in this story, is anyone what they initially seemed? Looking forward to the series developing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great prequel, 26 Aug 2014
I'd already read the other two books in this series so was looking forward to reading this prequel, although the author had offered this as a monthly chapter on her website I hadn't already read it but was delighted to receive a promotional copy. The book takes you back to the very beginning, in Ancient Greece, and lets you see why Jalmari acts as he does in the other books. Having not been a fan of Jalmari's in the other 2 books this book makes me understand him a little better and explains some of his behaviour. After reading this prequel I am really looking forward to the latest book in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read, 3 Aug 2014
This review is from: The Cure (Kindle Edition)
I received a copy of this book through an online book club to read and review. I really enjoyed this story and found it difficult to put down. Set in a realistic but frightening time in the future, against a background of despair, with only the love of family and friends to keep you going, especially when your 'date' is looming.
The characters are very believable which brought out strong emotions as the story progressed. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I was a little disappointed by the ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another hit from C. J., 16 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Being a fan of C. J. Ellisson's books I wasn't disappointed by her latest offering. Although it's a short story there were plenty of background details to help tell the story of a brief but beautiful meeting under unusual circumstances. Definitely worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something completely different., 24 April 2014
Having read most of Marissa Farrar's books I was delighted to receive a copy of her latest book for review.

As a fan of Marissa's books I was a bit wary of the fact that this book was so different from her usual style, but I was blown away! Written in the style of a blog following the lives of four very different women, I laughed, cried and often found myself wanting to comment on the blog posts.

A fantasticbook with a very thought provoking ending, bringing everyone together, highly recommended read.

Shadow of Death: Book Two of the Chosen Chronicles
Shadow of Death: Book Two of the Chosen Chronicles
Price: £0.77

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet more twists!, 14 Mar 2014
Having read Angel of Death nearly two years ago I was delighted when Karen Dales was offering copies of all three books as part of her birthday celebrations. Angel of Death was full of twists, totally wrong-footing the reader & Shadow of Death continued in the same manner. Beautifully written, a must read for any vampire fan, especially if you like something a little different & unpredictable. Really looking forward to Thanatos' story, especially as his character is very mysteriously introduced in this book. Great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great compilation, 26 Feb 2014
Having already read many of C J Ellisson's books, including Avoiding Mr Right, I was more than happy to receive a review copy of the compilation, which includes the aforementioned book. This is a great selection of contemporary stories, of varying lengths, fun, light-hearted and more than a little steamy. Would love to see 'Grooming the Player' made into a film. Believable, sassy characters make the books very enjoyable reads.

Changeling: Prelude to the Chosen Chronicles
Changeling: Prelude to the Chosen Chronicles
Price: £0.77

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written prequel, 17 Feb 2014
Having read Angel of Death nearly two years ago I was delighted when Karen Dales was offering copies of all three books as part of her birthday celebrations. Changeling is a beautifully written tale of a baby who was seen as too different to stay with his family, left out in the snow to die, but found and raised by a local healer, though never given a name. The way the child is treat by complete strangers is heartbreaking and his life never seems to be simple. A lovely story, now looking forward to reading book three.
