1.0 out of 5 stars Definatly on the brink of something here..., 17 May 2011
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Brink (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
Difficult to know where to start with this one.

Firstly the graphics are appalling, especially for such a recently released game, everything has a somewhat unfinished feel to it which only adds to my frustration with what should have been a good game.
Secondly the layout of the menus and the general feel of the way in which the levels are put together is somewhat slapdash and would benefit from a simpler customisation system like that seen in the Saints Row games for example.
Thirdly the missons themselves feel very generic, with little to no real varriation other than location yielding very little sense of achievement from doing anything.
The final example I will give as to how terrible this game is is the fact that I bought it from my local blockbuster and took it back after about an hour and a half of playing and being horrendously confused. A truly forgettable experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great and honestly written account of Stalingrad., 3 Feb 2011
The book is a great addition to any library with a military interest. Unlike so many books written about Stalingrad this one has a much more honest feel to it and that shows through. The emotions and devotion to his country are clearly visible throughout. An amazingly insightful read written by a truly incredible individual.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good, Old West Fun..., 10 Jan 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
The first five minutes of the game are, admittedly a tad confusing. For the hours and hours of gameplay after this that is pretty much the only niggle. A great game with few, if any flaws. A straight-forward and simple formatwhich delivers a superb all round game. The gunfights are frustrating at first but there is a knack to getting them and when you do they are such a pleasure, especially when you get past the 'only being able to hit them in the balls' stage which, if you play the game through on hard difficulty or higher you will most probably be aware of.
It isnt CoD, but it doesnt pretend to be either, it provides a different type of gameplay and provides players with a much more immersive style of game than any of the Call of Duty franchise have so far managed, even Black Ops.
Overall a great game, with hours of entertainment value and a storyline which pulls you right into the story. A cracking buy and a great time to be had by any lover of first person shooters.

5.0 out of 5 stars The dark knight, 10 Sep 2010
This film is a modern classic, its atmospheric, clever and dark, bringing a new dimension to the comic book to films genre. It has excellent acting and brilliant performances from all the cast. I cannot wait for Nolans next and apparantly final batman project. Until then i will have to wait for the stunning Inception to be released on dvd to keep me entertained...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game, 8 Sep 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Had the game when I was much younger and loved it then, decided to treat myself to the Gold Edition and was once again not dissapointed. The graphics of the game, especially during the video sequences havent aged particularly well but considering the age of the game it isnt a major gripe to have. The only other small reservation I have with the game is the relative shortness of the Titans expansion pack but that could be more to do with how much I enjoyed playing through the campaign I just didnt want it to be finished as quickly.
All in all a classic, with a much easier control system than the previous Age of Empires games providing hours of entertainment, both throught the campaign option and the random map section. A must-have for all fans of the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly awesome book on traditional arhery, 11 Nov 2009
This review is from: The Archer's Craft (Paperback)
Having always been interested in history and archery I found this book highly interesting and very entertaining. Adrian Hodgkins writing style is both engaging and educational and really brings the traditional crafting of archery equipment into the modern age. A great read for armchair enthusiasts and potential craftsmen alike, a thoroughly enjoyable read.
