5.0 out of 5 stars read it today, 3 July 2013
A fascinating book giving insights into the minds of both sitter and artist. It was a comprehensive guide into how Freud painted and worked on a day to day basis.I would highly recommend you reading it as soon as possible if you are interested in the artistic process.

3.0 out of 5 stars a huge to do list, 3 July 2013

The book has some useful ideas for distraction when depression hits.but for some people they may be a little overwhelming.they assume you have no other responsibilities like children so that you can just do what you want when you need to. I think it would be more suitable for single younger people and people that aren't too deeply depressed.

The book helps to give a clear picture of why we keep doing what we dont want to do,self sabotage in a way. It helps you to see why this is happening and uses a variety of techniques like the 2 paths exercise to help you take charge of your unconscious and make the choice to lead your way to a better life.

Finding Your Voice Through Creativity
Finding Your Voice Through Creativity

Edition: Paperback
Price: £10.99

5.0 out of 5 stars read it and draw!, 17 Jun. 2011
This book is amazing. After reading many books on disordered eating this one really points to the heart of your own individual issues and helps you find a way out. Be prepared to draw, whether its squiggles or realistic images and then write a journal entry for each image:they guide you every step of the way.5 stars all round.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard reading, 10 Feb. 2011
If this book was cut down to a third of it's size I would give it 5 but in it's current state it would scrape a 3. I enjoyed the actual account of his entrapment and how he managed to keep alert and solve his problem.I think he is a very strong person mentally and this shines through in the book, giving an important message of we do what we believe we can do.However the other bits of the book with long descriptions of previous foolhardy trips and detailed technical facts for how he climbed, used ropes etc I found almost sent me to sleep. If these bits, well 2 thirds of the book were cut out I would recommend that you buy it to read. As it is it would be best to borrow it from a library so you don't waste your money.
