5.0 out of 5 stars Anathema at their usual best, 10 July 2014

This review is from: Alternative 4 (MP3 Download)
As with most of Anathema's output since the mid 90's, alternative 4 is superb. Anathema's own work, from the superlative song writing, to the music and heartfelt vocal, this is another example of how brilliant Anathema are.

The Pink Floyd covers of One of the few, your possible past's and Goodbye cruel world are true to the originals with Anathema's musical and vocals added to the atmospheric sound.

A must for all fan's.

3.0 out of 5 stars brilliant music, very poor remastering, 1 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Whilst the Fish era Marillion is undoubtedly brilliant, I can't really recommend this set.

Whoever remastered them has done a real hatchet job on misplaced childhood by swapping the album versions of Kayleigh and Lavender to the single versions. They have also put gaps between the first 4 tracks ruining the seemless transistion between each track. Later tracks are gapless but there is an audible click denoting where the track changes. This has ruined a brilliant album.

With Clutching at straws, they have again put gaps between the first four tracks, again ruining the flow of another brilliant album.

Whilst the music is great and really stands the test of time, the person who remastered these should really hang their head in shame.

All that said, there does not appears to be anything wrong with Script or Fugazi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Market Square Hero, 8 Oct 2005
This double CD, Bouillabaisse - The best of Fish just goes to showcase his amazing lyrical & vocal talents from ballads such as Just good friends (with Sam Brown) & the deeply moving 'A Gentlemans Excuse Me' to his more rocking numbers such as 'Incommunicado', 'Big Wedge' & my personal favourite 'Moving Targets'.
Fish has been at he top of the prgressive rock game for 25 years now and I would thoroughly recommend this album to long time fans & new fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Symphony X return with another epic album, 12 Nov 2002
This review is from: The Odyssey (Audio CD)
Symphony X are back. Again they have written an album based on Greek Mythology. This time see the story of Odeseus and the voyages of the oddessy.
This is by far the best album yet and displays a harder edge than previous releases right from the word go from Micheal Romeo's Guitaring to the soaring and gravelley vocals of Russell Allen. Despite the harder edge to this opus Symphony X can still mix fast & heavy metal with melody. Add to this Amazing Drum & Bass lines and impeccable keyborad playing, this is a superb piece of Progressive Metal which i would recommend to any Prog Rock/Metal fans (especially fans of groups such as Dream Theater, Italian rock group Rhapsody & finnish rock gods Stratovarius.
The concept album is alive and kicking so long as groups such as Symphony X release epic's of such quality and musicianship.
