5.0 out of 5 stars HUGELY IMPORTANT, 13 Dec. 2010
I can't believe it has taken this long to have a film of this significance. i can't stress how important a film like this is, and so wonderful to know every school in the UK will have a copy of this. It's so well made aswell - great production value, with a strong cast of actors. Everyone, and i mean EVERYONE should watch this film regardless of your sexuality, it is that important!!! x

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY EROTIC, 23 Nov. 2010
Oh my where to start; 3 medium length films on 1 disc, i feel spoilt. This is very erotic, beautifully filmed, i find it real and genuine the girls are actually enjoying what they're doing :) it's very SEXY. Be prepared to be thoroughly surprised - 3 TIMES THE FUN, 3 TIMES THE PLEASURE!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars LAUGH-O-RAMA, 13 Sept. 2010
i thought this was so fun. great opportunity to watch it with my lesbian friends. i don't even know where to start, all the films were great, some were ok, but the majority was fab. its nice to see Jane Lynch doing her bit for 'lesbian cinema' Falling for Caroline got my laughing so much i was literally on the floor crying. it's refreshing and encouraging to see so many strong lesbian short filmmakers out there grafting their career - total respect to them and to peccadillo pictures for continuing to support them ++++++

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT, 13 Sept. 2010
This review is from: Eyes Wide Open [DVD] [2009] (DVD)
Unforbidden gay love set in a orthodox Jewish community in Jerusalem, Israel. A family man employs a new young stranger to work in his butcher, and soon discovers he has feeling for this young man. it's nothing new the story, but the setting is different, topical, political and very up to date. A story not told before in my experience, beside Trembling Before GD which was a documentary. My god does the director know how to draw performances from his actors. it's very subtle and inventive, a wonderful discovery, i was so moved my heart ached for them so much. it's more than a love story, it makes you think and question Israel and it's hypocritical regime, but it does this not in a judgmental way, a very powerful film.

5.0 out of 5 stars POWERFUL FILM, 13 Sept. 2010
This review is from: Villa Amalia [DVD] (2009) (DVD)
i don't think Isabelle Huppert has put a foot wrong in her choice of films. Again she comes up trump; magnificent film, totally deserving of the 5 stars here. It's about a women who discovered her husband is having an affair, and in one swift moment decides to erase all trace of her current life, everything, and starts afresh in a new country; new life. One woman's journey into a new life and open to all possibilities, refusing to look back - powerful. It felt very cathartic. Can't recommend this enough ++++++

5.0 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL, STRONG & POETIC, 13 Sept. 2010
This feels like a road movie, about 2 brothers travelling from France into Spain to their mother's funeral. On their journey they meet some wonderful and unsavory characters. It's a simple story line but i think that's the charm about this film, in fact it's full of charming, insightful observational details on family and brotherly love. And the fact that they're twins gives it that edge, it's rare to see twins on film and as the story unfolds you see the love, conflicts and differences between them, and it is exactly those differences that also glues them together - beautiful, strong and poetic stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!!, 13 Sept. 2010
This review is from: Highly Strung [DVD] (2009) (DVD)
i thought this was really strong, it was like Single White female, but set in France and she's a pianist.

It was engrossing, dramatic and rather sexy, i was gripped throughout. It's a clever story and not at all what i expected - it makes you think one thing and surprises you with another. LOVED IT!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars BRILLANTL:, 13 Sept. 2010
it's not often you get a lesbian film that is an out and out fun comedy, and with strong characterisation. i can't recommend this enough, it's funny, exciting, killer soundtrack, and dare i say it... hot women (not my cup tea) but still, i enjoyed it so much. My lesbian friends couldn't stop laughing, they were like little girls. They said something that I thought was a very good point - it's so good to come across a queer film where no lesbian dies and it doesn't have to justify or explain they're lesbians. It's just is and gets on with it. Highly recommend this +++++
