1.0 out of 5 stars i suppose you could turn it into an ocarina?, 6 Jun. 2016

useless piece of plastic junk. too much play in the holes, doesn't grip the work piece effectively. in short, use a drill press

4.0 out of 5 stars slippy balls, but kinda cool, 6 Jun. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
they stick out too much from the guitar body, the springs are really tough to release and the ball you have to pull on to release them too small and too slippy to grip. the black pearl surround is more of a grey pearl. but they look unique, more or less match the colours on my guitar, and most importantly, hold the strap safely

3.0 out of 5 stars living mostly in a dream world, 6 Jun. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I think Sue Klebold did a brave thing to write this book. it certainly is from the heart, and a brave attempt at trying to rationalise this horrendous situation. Ultimately though, I found it somewhat frustrating. Sue Klebold seems to have lived in that 'American Pie Fantasy' world - middle class, white, Christian family that seems to have no deeper clue about the world going on around them.

Some other reviews I have read have also mentioned a similar theme, and time and time again she says that she desperately wanted to have helped Dylan. Hindsight would have been truly wonderful, I am sure, but it almost feels like Dylan was brought up like a paper cut out. she did all the right things, checked all the boxes for sure, and the boy didn't really want for anything...perhaps except for a way to express himself and grow himself as a person. She remarks at once point he was tremendously, emotionally immature. He goes to church every sunday, does all the things expected of him... and yet not once did I really read anything that convinced me he had his own personality.

At several points Sue Klebold talks about god and religion, like its somehow real; another point she actually appears to seriously blame video games (wait a minute - isn't that one step away from blaming Marilyn Manson??) and despite her assurances, in parts it does actually come across as an attempt to exonerate herself as a parent. Dylan himself seems to be the ultimate Kevin the Teenager, in a home where perhaps he couldn't express himself, in a land where they think no gun control and a culture of fear is a good idea. And a whole bunch of other young people had to suffer and die for this.

Still, it is an interesting, disturbing read. the first two thirds are gripping, the latter third not so much so. I hesitate to say 'heavy going' - of course it is, it would never have been anything else. Its just I am sure there are more interesting, certainly more objective books about the opening chapter in America's struggle to understand guns are actually dangerous. as the world has seen time and time again as of 2016, given the right climate, there can be the most terrible, tragic consequences

3.0 out of 5 stars probably a crapshoot, but for the price..., 4 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
two piece maple neck unfinished and the fretboard is noticeably darker than the neck itself. reasonably okay grain pattern, decent fretwork and no obvious, massive problems. the headstock is huge - more like a P bass than a tele. upon closer examination there is a small amount of convex curve with the truss rod completely slack, and with the rod tightened to maximum, its straight. Hopefully a heavy set of strings will pull it into a small relief when its on a body, but for 25 notes I guess its no big problem. I wasn't expecting a warmoth replacement. the neck heel is also about 1mm wider than a standard pocket, and given that the neck is so cheap, filing the heel down is probably better than attacking any decent quality body it might live on. all in all its okay, an interesting 'project', and if it turns out okay with a refinished, resized headstock than I guess it will have been a good buy. otherwise I have £25 of firewood

UPDATE: finished resizing the headstock and drilling new tuner holes, reshaped the awful heel. the frets needed some levelling - three were too high. added headstock veneer to the front and back, and Danish oiled it. it now looks like a tele headstock, and looks nice. strapped to the guitar, it plays.....okay...ish. its straight, not too much adjustment left in the truss rod and with light gauge strings (009 I think). no problems on the higher end of the fretboard, but nothing too inspiring either. for 20 notes, plus a few days work....not too bad, not too great either. would I buy another? probably not to be honest.

5.0 out of 5 stars hardcore potato peeler, 27 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Jamie Oliver can keep his daft novelty speed peelers. this is a truly hardcore potato peeler that doesn't butcher my spuds when I am peeling them, sharp enough to shave the skin off a monkeys ass from seven feet away and feels like it could be used as a weapon while bringing terror to gotham city. only for the hardcore potato lovers

3.0 out of 5 stars amazon son mudas, 27 Dec. 2015

keyboard looks cool, but feels cheap. backlit keys have to be activated at every boot up (a minor annoyance). the 'L' key, when pressed, also sticks to the ';' key, so had to be gently filed into shape. I like it, I'm sure its a good enough product for the price, just some glaringly annoying problems stopping it from being a great product for the price.

Also Amazon sent me the Spanish keyboard version. because they are idiots I am guessing?

2.0 out of 5 stars poor quality, 27 Dec. 2015

awful quality, really cheap bendy plastic thing that really doesn't fit too well if you have a chair with arms. I'm really sure you could modify it in some way to make it useful, but I can't figure out how

5.0 out of 5 stars very good tool for the price, 27 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
an unbeatable tool for the price. great quality, great battery life, great features. comes with the usual assortment of driver bits. one accessory everyone should buy for this is a set of 1/4 hexagon drill bits. Probably doesn't need to be said, this is not a tool for the professional to build entire houses with. its occasional light to medium use, although for authentic effect, hitch your trousers a bit lower to expose the buttcrack to the mrs while working

3.0 out of 5 stars my dog is afraid, i'm not, 27 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
small pet ramp, not really long enough for a sofa without making it too difficult to climb. I like it - my dog doesn't. would really benefit from some kind of foam or carpet to help the wee doggie climb it. but for the price, meh, its okay. my dog is still afraid of it though.
