Cushe Mens Chukka Leather Slippers UM01283 Dark Grey 9 UK, 43 EU
Cushe Mens Chukka Leather Slippers UM01283 Dark Grey 9 UK, 43 EU
Price: £46.35

5.0 out of 5 stars Pukka chukka, 26 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Lightweight slip-on shoes (not sure I would call them slippers) in a chukka boot style. Trademark Cushe rounded, pebble patterned sole that is very natural to walk on, and the grey leather is robustly stitched, with a suede loop at the back of the heel to aid pulling the shoe on. The back of the heel is elastic at the top, which is a must for getting the shoe on and off and means there is no rubbing in use. Elasticated laces can be tightened or loosened to customise the fit and I find I can wear thicker socks quite easily. Very comfortable, just the thing for casual wear during spring through to autumn - definitely not wet weather or winter wear though as they aren't waterproof to any degree.
Delighted with these and would thoroughly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Felco secateurs, 26 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Top quality secateurs which make pruning a pleasure rather than a chore. Very well made with a smooth action, comfortable handles, and the carbon steel blade slices cleanly through soft and woody stems alike, and small branches with ease. The 'head gardener' says that these are the best secateurs she has ever used. The blade takes a good edge, the cut is adjustable, and I see you can get spare parts for this tool, so definitely not a one-season disposable acquisition.
Worth every penny, comes with a lifetime guarantee, and thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Cushe classic !, 25 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought as dog-walking boots for all weathers and terrains and walked 5 miles in them straight out of the box. Supremely comfortable, perfect fit and totally waterproof. Insulated padding around the ankle adds to the comfort - there is no rubbing - and also makes these a really warm boot for those autumn and winter walks.
Good rubber bumper runs round the toe, and there is a solid midsection running from behind the toe to around the heel to give added lateral support and protection. All stitching on the boot, especially joining the hide leather to the suede uppers is robustly done.
The sole isn't deeply cleated, rather hundreds of little rubber studs combine to give a good grip on pavement and off-road alike.
I am delighted with these and would thoroughly recommend - I've never had a pair of Cushe shoes or boots that I didn't like !

5.0 out of 5 stars Biodegradable poo-bags, 25 April 2015
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These come in tightly wrapped rolls of 15 bags per roll, so even if you haven't got the correspondiing dispenser they are easy to drop into a pocket or bag when you take your dog for a walk, and they tear easily off the roll without distorting or ripping.
In a pale green colour, overprinted with the brand name, you can actually see through the plastic, which is sometimes an advantage. They seem pretty strong - we certainly haven't had any rips or fingers poking through (which is always unpleasant !) and they easily accommodate my big hands to well over the wrists, being 13" long x 9" wide. No ties at the top, but easy enough to knot tight for all but the biggest 'leavings'.
Useful for so much more than poo, of course, in that you could put food waste into your compost bin in them, or use them as eco-friendly rubbish bags in the car or out walking. They seem good value for money too.
Very pleased with these and will happily order some more of them

5.0 out of 5 stars Emergency rations..., 25 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These survival rations are triple packed (tough card box, airtight foil, then clear plastic) and then 18 square biscuits packed in 2's in greaseproof paper. They taste like a fine unsweetened shortbread biscuit and each box is designed to provide 2500 calories, so I make that 138 cal per biscuit, or thereabouts.
Obviously designed for serious survival situations, but as a diabetic I need to plan to carry food and water with me in the car, on the train or out cycling/walking, and I would rather eat one or two of these biscuits than some of the fruit/cereal bars on the market (and they were work out comparatively good value too). Stored in an airtight tin, they last long enough once you have broken the foil packet seal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Survival kit, 25 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Neatly packaged in a cardboard box, this kit is something you just put in your boat, home store, or the boot of your car and then forget about for the next four years. Top quality contents, including the 6-hr lightstick, water purification tablets and foil blanket. The survival rations are triple packed (tough card box, airtight foil, then clear plastic) and then 18 square biscuits packed in 2's in greaseproof paper. They taste like a fine unsweetened shortbread biscuit and each box is designed to provide 2500 calories, so I make that 138 cal per biscuit, or thereabouts.
The 500mL water, in a tough alu plastic pouch, is divided into 10 x 50 mL sachets that you tear open at the corner to drink.
As a diabetic, I always keep supplies of food and water to hand when I am travelling - this fits the bill perfectly, and I'd rather eat one or two of these biscuits to keep going than many of the very sweet cereal bars you can buy (and actually these work out less expensive). So whether it's you alone having to survive for 24 hrs, or a car-full of you for an essential pit-stop, this is eminently fit for purpose.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slide top tin, 22 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Little (and I mean little) tin at just 2" long, with a sliding lid that has a positive click fastening. Ideal for keeping tablets, small sewing kit, emergency matches, safety pins, spare key, that sort of thing.
Really well made in smoothly finished metal with nicely rounded edges, easy to drop into a pocket or bag - nice product

5.0 out of 5 stars Fit bag !, 20 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well finished slip case for the Samsung Galaxy Young 2 in a smart looking teal blue leather with a microfibre lining, so your phone gets a good wipe each time you put it in or take it out of the case.
Snug fit, so no use if you have a silicone bumper on your phone, but provides good protection when in a bag or pocket, and the phone slides in and out easily enough without falling out when you don't want it to.
I'm very pleased with this - looks great and works well

5.0 out of 5 stars Fire Kit Refill, 20 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: EDC Fire Kit Refill Pack (Misc.)
Excellent refill pack for the EDC Fire Kit, comprising 24 waxy jute sticks (truly brilliant for tinder, especially if you roughen, split or fan the ends, or as a slow match), three little vials of magnesium mix powder which burns nice and fiercely and three mini glow-sticks (which I would have to say are probably the least practical part of this kit, but do glow a bright green so could be used as a safety marker rather than for effective illumination).
You can of course also make or supplement your own preference of fire kit with these and other bespoke ingredients

4.0 out of 5 stars Ceramic picnic knife, 20 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Neat little ceramic knife, ideal for slicing cooked meats, cheeses, fruit, tomatoes etc without tainting them at all. Very sharp white ceramic 3" blade in a blue plastic handle, held open or closed by friction (and you can tighten the retaining screw to increase that if you wish). Ball chain to attach it securely or retrieve it easily, or you could hang it on a lanyard.
Not a general purpose carry knife by any means, not for prying or twisting and the blade will chip if used against a hard surface (like bone or granite worktop), but ideal for picnics or BBQs rather than take your best kitchen knives
