5.0 out of 5 stars Amazinggg!, 26 Nov. 2013
This review is from: PRISM [Bonus Tracks] (Audio CD)
I had high expectations for this album as I am a huge Katy Perry fan and her have found her previous two albums amazing, and she really didn't disappoint! In fact I think this might be her best work to date. The album has so many great tracks that even the incredible Roar almost pales in comparison.

1. Roar: 9/10: of course you'll have already heard this song before. Empowering lyrics, catchy tune and just pure Katy Perry genius. Definitely not a song that will be getting old any time soon.
2. Legendary Lovers: 8/10: Not the best song on the album but still a nice listen, similar to E.T.
3. Birthday: 10/10: Upbeat, feel-good and catchy. Definitely one to dance to with the girls. Don't think you could listen to it without feeling the urge to dance.
4. Walking On Air: 10/10: my personal favourite, upbeat and catchy. Another great dance track, something different to what you'd normally expect from Katy.
5. Unconditionally: 7/10: Not my favourite but still heart-warming and well-written.
6. Dark Horse: 9/10: A very mellow tune from Katy, definitely very different to anything you would have heard from her before with almost urban influences. A good listen and definitely a stand-out from the album for most people.
7. This Is How We Do: 10/10: A very cool and laid-back track, different from Katy's usual sound. Relatable, cheeky lyrics. Similar to Last Friday Night. Definitely one for parties.
8. International Smile: 10/10: Love this song, I'd say the lyrics have the same sort of idea as Alicia Keys' Girl On Fire. Another catchy tune to dance to.
9. Ghost: 7/10: One of the more mellow songs on the album. I like the lyrics but not one of the most memorable from the album. Still a good listen though.
10. Love Me: 9/10: great song with empowering lyrics, spreading a great message that you need to love yourself in order to get the love you deserve from others. Beautifully written.
11. This Moment: 8/10: Another slow track, not as memorable as some others but I still love the lyrics.
12. Double Rainbow: 9/10: Great song, lovely lyrics, one of the love songs on the album.
13. By The Grace Of God: 10/10: my other personal favourite, she definitely ends the album on a high. Beautifully-written, spreading a similar message to Roar but in a completely different way. Just a beautiful song. If you liked Not Like The Movies from Teenage Dream, you'll probably love this.

Best album I've heard in a long time and definitely for me the record of 2013.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Brit!, 30 Jun. 2011
This review is from: Femme Fatale (Audio CD)
Being a huge Britney fan and loving her released singles "Hold it Against Me" and "Till The World Ends" I was desperate to buy this album as soon as it came out..and I have to say I was far from disappointed! Femme Fatale is a million times better than I could have ever expected and definitely Brit's best album to date, even beating my previous favourite Blackout. Having considered her previous album Circus to be a bit of a disappointment, I was slightly wary about purchasing this album but I really needn't have been! The album is funky, edgy, cool, seductive and so much more! Definitely one to let loose and dance to no matter how you're feeling at the time! Brit has definitely out done herself this time!

1. Till The World Ends: one of my personal favourites from the album. A sure fire hit and a definite club-banger! One of the most upbeat and catchiest songs off the album. 10/10
2. Hold It Against Me: Fantastic! Great conception with a great hook towards the end..another club-banger! Perfect lead single 10/10
3. Inside Out: One of the less upbeat tracks on the album and not one of my favourites at all! This song is okay for a few listens but after the third it really gets a bit boring which is a shame after the two fantastic first singles 5/10
4. I Wanna Go: Brit returns with fighting form with this track! It's upbeat, sexy, fun and extremely catchy! One of my personal favourites and potential single material! 10/10
5. How I Roll: Unusual and different - but that's a good thing! This song is very sexy and catchy and a definite winner in my eyes! 9/10
6. (Drop Dead) Beautiful feat. Sabi: Amazing! Tinged with R&B but still the dance track we expect and love from Britney! One of the best and Saby makes a welcome addition in the third verse. While some of the lyrics are a bit tedious that doesn't dampen the mood of one of the best and catchiest songs on the album! 10/10
7. Seal It With A Kiss: Daring and seductive and the Brit we love most! Not as catchy and previous songs but still good all the same! 8/10
8. Big Fat Bass feat. Will.I.Am: Hmm, this song leaves me in two minds. Part of me finds it quite boring and repetitive (particularly as it's so long) but the other part of me loves it! It is a great club tune but isn't one that's that interesting to listent to over and over again like some of the others..Brit's parts are great but Will.I.Am lets her down slightly unfortunately...8/10
9. Trouble For Me: She's back on form with this catchy number! Great lyrics and Brit's vocals (on the verses anyway) are on top form! 10/10
10. Trip To Your Heart: I don't know what it is about this song but it's definitely a special one from the album. Slightly ballad-esque it's beautiful and sensational. Fantastic work Britney! 10/10
11. Gasoline: Not the best. Quite boring without any major hook and the lyrics are slightly tedious. Nothing special unfortunately. 6/10
12. Criminal: Wow! This song is fantastic and incredibly catchy! It's daring and sexy and everything we love about Britney rolled into one! The subject matter is interesting and the lyrics are great..the flute is also interesting and, surprisingly, works incredibly well! 10/10
13. Up N Down: Another club-banger - probably the best on the album with a great chorus hook! This song is fantastic and one that you can replay over and over again without getting bored! Fantastic fun! 10/10
14. He About to Lose Me: Another fantastic hit from Brit! Her vocals are fantastic on this song and the subject matter once again is interesting and daring and just a really cool listen! Seductive and intriguing..great work! 10/10
15. Selfish: Sexy and daring once again..it's cool and Brit is completely in her element with this song although not quite as catchy as previous songs 9/10
16. Don't Keep Me Waiting: A great end to an exceptional album! Brit goes for a rocky-edge with this edgy and daring track! 9/10

I strongly recommend you buy this album..it'll put you in a great mood and leave you dancing the night away! Don't miss out on the great tunes Britney has to offer! Even if you're not already a fan...it's quite possible you will be after hearing this great album! 10/10!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont waste your time!, 20 Feb. 2010
This review is from: Valentine's Day [DVD] [2010] (DVD)
I decided to go and see this film being a fan of romantic comedies and I was impressed by the huge A-list cast (Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Beil, Bradley Cooper, Emma Roberts, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, Hector Elizondo, Kathy Bates, Jamie Foxx, Patrick Dempsey, Shirley McCain). But you have to think, with that many people...how many storylines are their gonna be? Well, the truth is, MILLIONS!!!!! There is just simply too many storylines going on all at once for you to really care about what happens to anyone. In fact, I found it quite tiring to try and keep up with every single storyline and understand it. Everytime we returned back to one storyline you have to wrack your brain to try and remember what their storyline actually was!
I have to say, though, I did find some of the storylines quite entertaining, but the main storyline (which was obviously the one between Jennifer Garner and Ashton Kutcher) is so boring in my opinion.
Stand out performances definitely come from Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, and Hector Elizondo, but no one is particularly amazing. They don't have a chance to be! Everyone's given so little screen time you wonder if they are even really trying with their performances.
Take my advice, if you really love your boyfriend/girlfriend don't put them through this! If you do and your other half enjoys it - they might not be the person for you!

The Hand That Rocks The Cradle [DVD] [1992]
The Hand That Rocks The Cradle [DVD] [1992]
Dvd ~ Annabella Sciorra
Price: £3.99

5.0 out of 5 stars The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, 19 Feb. 2010
If you're a fan of thrillers then this film is without a doubt for you! If you're not (like me) then you are bound to enjoy it anyway (just like me!)
The story is about a nanny hellbent on revenge to a family that wronged her. She attempts to take away the children and husband from the women who sent her husband to prison (leading him to consequently kill himself). Taking away her asthma pumps, ripping up her husbands important work files, and even killing the wife's best friend are just some of the nasty deeds we see Peyton (the nanny) do, before she meets her own sticky end.
I have to say that Rebecca De Mornay (the nanny) is definitely the stand out from this whole movie. Her portrayel of Peyton is spine tingling, but, at the same time, she has an incredible ability to make you feel sorry for her without seeming vulnerable, but you still hate her at the same time.
Go and buy it now! It won't disappoint

This review is from: Titanic [1998] [DVD] (DVD)
I love this film and would recommend it to anyone!
The plot:
First class beauty, Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) and poor third class Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) meet while boarding the great RMS Titanic. Rose feels trapped in her life of constant first class 'parties' and stuck up businessmen while being engaged to rich suitor Caledon Hockley (Billy Zane). Rose has been forced to marry this man by her mother, who, since Rose's father died, has tried everything to keep them in the first class 'gang' and the engagement is their last hope. Rose and her family, including Cal, are boarding the ship to go back to their home in America. Elsewhere, Jack is an artist trying everything he can to make ends meat with his Italian friend Fabrizio. Having no where proper to live, Jack wins tickets aboard Titanic through a Poker game, and he and Fabrizio board heading for America. Jack spots Rose as she attempts to jump from the bowl of the ship in order to end her life. He saves her, and, after originally being accused of raping her, is eventually declared a hero and is invited to join the first class passengers for a dinner for just the one night. After the dinner, Jack takes Rose to a party with the lower class passengers, un beknown to her fiance, who later finds out. Determined to break free from her first class life, Rose continues to meet with Jack. The pair enjoy their first kiss on the bowl of the great ship. Jack, being an artist, later draws Rose completely naked, by her own request. They later sleep together, just before the ship hits an iceberg which then starts to flood the ship. Cal, enraged by Rose spending so much time with Jack, later plants a very expensive necklace that he gave Rose (the Heart of the Ocean), in Jack's pocket and frames him for theft. Jack's later taken below deck and chained to the ship, which is gradually sinking. Passengers are starting to abort the plane wearing life jackets on other boats as the crew members desperately try to save as many people as they can. After finding out the ship will take just an hour to completely sink, and with lifeboats that will only get half the passengers to safety, they know most people will die, but make sure to try and keep everyone as calm as possible. Meanwhile, while about to board a life boat with her mother and other first class women (at first the crew insist only women and children can board the lifeboats), Rose changes her mind and leaves in order to find and save Jack. After finding him trapped in a room, handcuffed to the boat, Rose desperately seeks help after being unable to find the key to unlock the handcuffs. Eventually, with nothing left to do, she grabs an axe and successfully breaks the chains. The pair then try all they can to flee the boat. After finally reaching the boat deck, able to board a lifeboat, Rose insists she won't go without Jack who is unable to leave the boat yet, giving only men and women are allowed to leave. However, Jack and Cal manage to convince Rose to get on the lifeboat, before she jumps back onto the ship in order to be back with Jack. Enraged, Cal chases after the reunited couple and shoots at them numerous times with a gun. After escaping him, Jack and Rose are now near the bottom of the ship where the water is quickly filling up. After finding a young boy crying near the bottom the pair attempt to save him before his father snatches him away. Jack and Rose are now nearly trapped, waters pouring in from every direction. As they escape to a floor just above they're trapped. The gates locked. A crew member eventually comes to let them out, but after many failed attempts to open, he flees terrified for his own life. Jack then retrieves the key and tries to unlock the gate from under water. The gate luckily opens and the pair can escape, but by now the waters flooded the boat too much - there isn't any lifeboats left. Many people are still aboard the ship. The pair try to stay on the ship as long as possible as it eventually floods underwater. Them, and many others are left in the middle of the freezing North Atlantic water and everyone's desperately calling out for help from the lifeboats nearby. Eventually, one boat comes back to rescue any survivors. But their are only six survivors out of hundreds of people. This includes Rose, but not Jack.
This film is amazing! You have to see it! Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are amazing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Piratley fun!, 18 Feb. 2010
I watched this film when it first came out and have probably watched it a million times since and I still can't get enough of it! Johnny Depp is amazing as Captain Jack Sparrow and completely steals the show! I know he was nominated for an Oscar for this performance but really he should have won it! No one can fault his incredibly unique performance - nor how gorgeous he looks in this! The rest of the cast are also very good. With Geoffry Rush being a stand out as the evil Captain Barbossa. Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom were both brilliant in their roles as the governers kidnapped daughter, Elizabeth Swan and young rouge blacksmith William Turner, respectably. Would recommend to anyone, from young kids to senior citizens! It's got something for everyone! And no one can disagree, no matter what your age you won't be able to take your eyes off the gorgeous and talented Johnny Depp in his best performance yet!

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events [DVD] [2004] [CA Import] [Region 1] [NTSC]
Dvd ~ Jim Carrey

5.0 out of 5 stars Not an unfortunate watch!!!, 18 Feb. 2010
Having been a huge fan of the book series, I couldn't wait to see this film! Sure, I'm not Jim Carrey's biggest fan (sometimes he can be funny, but sometimes just annoying) but I still had high hopes. I wasn't disappointed.
The film isn't completely true to the book, but what film is? Besides, to fit three books into one film is going to need certain changes! And I think they did a good job. The whole feel of the film, dark and eerie was paired with comic release from Carrey. His character is slightly different from the way Count Olaf is portrayed the book, but not necessarily in a bad way. By making Olaf more funny and less scary than he is in the book, just broadens the audience for the film. Making it something older children will enjoy as well (I'd say about 9+ as younger children might find it a bit scary).
The rest of the cast are also extremely good. Meryl Streep, as the children's terrified aunt, is, as always, brilliant and very convincing as well as being quite funny at times. Billy Connolly was made the children's Uncle Monty a very warm and likeable person. Emily Browning was amazing as Violet, she really made you feel for her character and her siblings. However, I was a little disappointed by Liam Aiken, who plays Violet's brother Klaus, to me his performance was just a little bland, but that's just my opinion. Timothy Spall and Jude Law (as the voiceover, Lemony Snicket) were also very enjoyable to watch.
I congratulate everyone involved with this project - brilliant!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, frothy and light, 8 Jan. 2010
This review is from: The Nanny Diaries [DVD] (DVD)
Being a fan of Scarlett Johansson I had high hopes for this movie, and I wasn't disappointed. It was entertaining and just something nice and sweet to watch on a Sunday afternoon, even if some scenes were a bit depressing. Sure it wasn't going to win any Oscars, but who cares? Not every film has to be a masterpiece and Oscar-worthy. I have to admit the little boy was quite annoying and not very cute but you really couldn't help but feel for him being ignored by his parents all the time, especially when Annie (Scarlett Johansson) is forced to leave him for being an 'un fit Nanny' despite being the only capable person to look after him since his own parents don't seem very bothered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harrowing Stuff!, 5 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Changeling [DVD] (DVD)
Being a fan of Angelina Jolie, especially after seeing how good she was in Girl, Interrupted, I had high hopes for this movie..and it didn't disappoint!
The story takes place in Los Angeles, way back in 1928, when single mother, Christine Collins' son, Walter Collins, goes missing. Five months later he's brought back to her through the LAPD, however, he's not her son. When the polic refuse to believe her, Christine is unwillingly thrown into a mental ward, along with many other woman put in there for going against the police department. And boy, there are plenty more shocks in store, I don't want to give too much away, but it's definitely not for the light hearted so be warned!
Everything was brilliant about the movie, the sets and costumes were perfectly set for it's time and Jolie was perfection in the role that only a real life mother would ever be able to pull off! You really feel the emotion and depth in her character and really sympathis with Christine, especially after everything she's forced to endure!
I would definitely recommend this, but make sure you're prepared for the harrowing stuff that follows, I wasn't unfortunately which is why I'm warning you.
5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well deserved Oscar win!, 30 Nov. 2009
This review is from: Girl, Interrupted [DVD] (DVD)
I had high hopes for this film being a fan of both Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. However, it turned out to be far better than I expected!
The story follows a young woman, Susanna Kaysen, who is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and sent to a mental institution. While their, Susanna forms a close bond with inmate Lisa Rowe, diagnosed a sociopath, whether she actually is one is left to interpretation, and there are plenty of twists and turns along the way through to Susanna's eventual release.
While Winona Ryder is brilliant as Susanna, one of her best performances to date, it's Angelina Jolie who's the star of the show! She steals every scene she's in a definitly deserved that Oscar-win!
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!
