This book gives a new insight into a very personal person, the poet Emily Dickinson. Her life and circumstances are better understood and one can see why she remained at home by choice. Her life, like many other authors was very family orientated and although her relationship with her sister-in-law was her one female friendship and perhaps her only one outside the family. However the author writes in a style that is slow and laborious and one wonders when the book will end.
Excellent, this book tells a story so very true. People from the west of Ireland will identify with the people and places and understand the difficult circumstances at that time. Things are so differnet now. Written in a simple and understanding manner.
